Tango Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 All good mate.....How's you doing? Quote
Tango Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 Well mate, it's all change. I've taken early retirement from work and me and Bonniebird have moved to the South of France. Unfortunately both my bikes had to go, so I'm bikeless at the moment, but looking to get something hopefully early next year. You and yours all ok? Quote
Tango Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 Hey Gerontious, how's it going my man? Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 Hi Tango Good thanks. Just returned after an 18 month absence myself so its nice to hear from ya. No bike? Jeez. How d’you let that happen?!South of france. Sounds good. How’s that going? Quote
Guest Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 New bike time, exciting. Well done on the retirement. Me and the Mrs moved to Norfolk. It's like france, people speak with a funny accent and think tractors are everyday transport. Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 I love Norfolk. Empty roads. Peace and quiet and abnormally good weather for its location!Mind you I also love Wales, Scotland, South of France, Southern Spain and pretty much every location that isn’t here cos the traffic jams are tragic! Yeah, no bike......had to sell the Speedy because any bike over 100bhp has to have ABS over here....either that or be restricted to less than 100bhp.....and I just couldn't do that to Speedy, so he's got a new home now. The project bike was just too much to transport over, so that went too. It's early days for us over here yet......but so far, so good thanks..... Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 I’ve never heard that before. They don’t do grandfather rights then? Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 Have you got a bike in mind? Quote

Yep, you are absolutely right about people talking funny and driving tractors.....it's just a little bit warmer here than Norfolk and we've got mountains just up the road....otherwise it could be the same place! Tango Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 I’ve never heard that before. They don’t do grandfather rights then? It's possible to register a bike over 100bhp without ABS if it's over a certain age.....but unfortunately Speedy didn't fall into that category.... New bike?.....well, I was looking at the Royal Enfield Interceptor......but then Triumph released the new Trident.....so........ Quote

Not started the Carte de Sejour thing yet as it's changed for Brits (WARP - Withdrawal Agreement Residency Permit), but it's not been decreed yet, even though the online site for it has been live for a few weeks now....so we're just waiting for that before applying.... We've got until the end of next June to get it sorted, but we're not going to wait. Once the decree is ratified and we know for sure what criteria needs to be met we'll go for it. It always was, mate.... Quote
