F.A.O BORILE - Front Callipers Seizing

Recommended Posts

best thing to do borile... whip the calipers off... take out the pistons and clean them up... make sure u dont damage seals on them when u take them out tho... best way is to put an ait compressor onto hoses and blow them out... failing that.. a rag and mole grips and gently ease them out..

u often find that theres loads of shite behind the pistons that nags up the callipers. the air line will also clean all the crap out of the hoses.

check ur fron master cylinder too.. make sure the lil rubber diaphram aint torn or got a split.

then rebuild...

that should do the trick... no cost to to that except new brake fluid. just make sure u bleed them in properly.

Might be difficult when Pid lives in North Yorkhire and Borile lives in Hampshire, evil, as in the opposite end of the country.

take the callipers off the carriers & the pads out, pump the brakes & normally the pistons will come out that way. only time i did compressed air the piston did about 50ft across the workshop!

oil the throttle cables dont use grease as all the shit in the air sticks to it dust etc

make sure the throttle return isnt too tight common cause with sticking cables

make sure one isnt snagged

oh and check condition

supply cable??

Swap the Retun cable over with the Supply Cable (including outers) if they same type of ends.

u dont actually need the Return cable. mine snapped too and i did this... it actually made the throttle more responsive too.
