Hello ladies and gents I’ve only been riding a month ( 650 V-Storm ) and I commute into London 90% of my trip is on the A3 doing motorway speeds. My rear tire started to square off but my opinion has lots of tread please can you advise if I need some brand-new tyres PS i’m doing 1500 miles a month in all weathers

All bike tyres square off as that’s where the tyre sits 90% I’d the time.

There should be some little wear markers inside the tread in places in the middle of the tyre. The legal tread depth for motorbike tyres is 1mm around the circumference and across 3/4 of the width of the tyre.

If you can’t find/don’t have the wear markers Insert a 20p piece into the groove and take a side view.

If the outer band of the coin is covered by the depth of the groove, your tyres are good.

It does look squared off. Sitting on the motorway will do that.

If it gets too bad it will start to feel like it's fighting you in the corners. It won't want to roll smoothly onto its side.

I don't like letting my tyres go down much below 2mm in the centre. Though still legal, they definitely don't handle heavy rain as well below that.
