Stu is right, the HISS system is very complicated, but it is also pretty reliable. Haven't heard of any complete failures. Hopefully your problem is just a blown bulb/fuse or basic wiring thing...

only thing i can think of is bike was not used 4 about 4 week s when i was away ,but started first push after that and has done so ever since

It should Flash for 2 seconds when you put the key IN AND TURN IT Thats letting you know the HISS is checking the key is the right one.

However the key can become uncoded if :-

a) it is dropped or damaged

B)Gets to hot

C)Gets too close to a Magnetic object

D)Or submerged in water for to long

In which case the bike wouldnt start. If the bike starts it sounds like the bulb for the key symbol on the clock has blown.

Honda hiss light can be turned off or on have you turned it off . Check your hand book it will tell you how to turn back on if not in your book disconnect the bat for min or 2 then reconnect.
