honda cb125 k5 valve clearances

hi there i was wondering wether anyone new the valve clearances for a cb125 k5 (German) as the ones in the workshop manual i have say the inlet needs to be 0.003" and the exhaust need to be 0.004" but when set up to these tolerances the engine is extremely noisy and taps like hell. can anyone help?

Well I would say inlet was correct at 0.003" or 0.08mm, and Exhaust would be 0.005", or 0.12mm.

 

You did set engine up in correct position before doing the clearances?

 

As for why they are noisy at that clearance, no idea!! were they noisy before you did them??

did you do it hot or cold 

the gaps close as the engine heats up
