Desmond.22 Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Hi ok so I did cbt and had scooter for a bit few years back and tbh with young kids etc didn't use that much. Now I'm thinking again of cbt and getting 125 for fun and commuting. I only do short run on slow roads so think 125 will be more than enough for few years and think over 5 years bike will pay for itself in fuel savings etc. So I plan on buying a new bike and was going to wait til spring time probably but is there any bargains to be had this time of year on new bikes or will it cost same no matter when you buy ? Thanks Quote
Guest Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 It's generally a bit cheaper over winter allegedly. Although good used jap 125s tend to hold their value whatever I reckon. Quote

bud Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Certain bikes are definitely cheaper come winter time. Unfortunately 125's are pretty steady money wise. Your best chance is to get a bike already registered by a dealer. They will register models now to clear stock for newer models coming in. Often the only change is colour wise, but you save a few quid. Only downside is you will be the second owner on the log book. But still own a new bike. Quote
Desmond.22 Posted December 12, 2022 Author Posted December 12, 2022 Thanks I'll maybe pop into a dealer and look into Quote
veracocha Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Hi Oscar. I recently bought a Zontes 125 after completing my CBT and for a 15 mile back-road commute it was fantastic and so cheap to run. Cost me £3200 and I sold it three months later with 1000 miles on it or £2400 so there are bargains to be had. Had I not passed my test and bought a 650 I would have kept it. Autotrader is where it sold within 1-day. (milek AGF) Quote
