Ruud Muschter Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 Hello dear bikers, My Honda CBR1100 XX Super Blackbird dates from 1998. In the manual the tire pressure for 3 brands of tires is stated as 2,9/2,9. I always adhered to this. However, this week my motorcycle dealer told me, that my tire pressure was completely wrong. According to them it should be 2,5/2,8. Both tires are the Michelin Road 06. Is the difference related to the fact, that modern tires require these differing pressures? After all, we are 25 years farther in time. Thanks for your comments. Greetings, Ruud Muschter Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 Tyres pressures aren't absolutes. It pays to start with the manufacturer's recommended settings and play around to see what works for you. Most bikes have lower pressure at the front and higher at the rear. 2.9 bar is 42 psi which is the recommended rear tyre pressure for both my bikes. 2.5 is 36 psi which is the recommended pressure for my Honda CBF. The Bobber uses 32 at the front. 36 front / 42 rear is pretty common. So try that and see how it feels. Quote
