I was wondering if comprehensive insurance cover would cover my motorcycles exhaust down pipe being cracked by a rock blowing from a strong wind? This is hypothetical it didn’t happen

It would but you need to weigh up whether it’s worth claiming.

You will have an excess to cover and then the claim will affect your premiums for the next 5 years.

If the down pipe costs way over the calculated price above then go through your insurance.

I would look on eBay for a replacement.

I've got to ask, if a rock is big enough to do that much damage, just how strong was the wind? We've all seen dust and even a bit of light gravel blown about a bit by the wind, but a rock!

It’s just something my parents said because they don’t want to report criminal damage

I think you'll need a better story for an insurance claim. Tell them you fell over a passing leprachaun and accidently kicked his lucky charms. The free toy (a lead blarney stone) flew out of the cereal box and into the exhaust, thereby denting it. 🤟

Allegedly from genuine insurance claims. The OP's story so far is right up there with the best of them.

(p.s. Kicking a Leprachaun in the lucky charms is definitely a bad career move)

  1. “I was driving along the motorway when the police pulled me over onto the hard shoulder. Unfortunately I was in the middle lane and there was another car in the way..”

  3. “The accident happened because I had one eye on the lorry in front, one eye on the pedestrian and the other on the car behind.”
  4. “I started to slow down but the traffic was more stationary than I thought.”
  5. Question; “Could either driver have done anything to avoid the accident?”
    Answer: “Traveled by bus?”

Question: What warning was given by you?
    Answer: Horn.
Question: What warning was given by the other party?
    Answer: Moo.
  7. “I didn’t think the speed limit applied after midnight”
  8. “I knew the dog was possessive about the car but I would not have asked her to drive it if I had thought there was any risk.”

  10. “The other car collided with mine without giving warning of its intention.”
  11. “I collided with a stationary truck coming the other way”
  12. “A pedestrian hit me and went under my car”

  14. “An invisible car came out of nowhere, struck my car and vanished.”
  15. “Coming home, I drove into the wrong house and collided with a tree I don’t have.”
  16. “I thought my window was down, but I found it was up when I put my head through it.”
  17. “The guy was all over the road. I had to swerve a number of times before I hit him.”
  18. “I had been driving for forty years when I fell asleep at the wheel and had an accident.”
  19. “As I approached an intersection a sign suddenly appeared in a place where no stop sign had ever appeared before.”
  20. “To avoid hitting the bumper of the car in front I struck a pedestrian.”
  21. “My car was legally parked as it backed into another vehicle.”
  22. “I told the police that I was not injured, but on removing my hat found that I had a fractured skull.”
  23. “I was sure the old fellow would never make it to the other side of the road when I struck him.”
  24. “The pedestrian had no idea which way to run as I ran over him.”
  25. “I saw a slow moving, sad faced old gentleman as he bounced off the roof of my car.”
