Hi, I bought a Triumph Daytona 1000cc new in 1992 and my son has the same, but the 750cc triple also 1992. They go ok, but when hot in towns at traffic lights etc. they bog down and missfire as you pull away. Once you are back on open road and the temp goes down they run ok. It is only as the bikes are getting older that it has done this. Have changed plugs, ballanced carbs, and usual servicing but still does it. Any Triumph owners had the same problems and got it fixed. Anyone got any ideas as my son is deaf and can't hear the engine and sometimes stalls it as he pulls away. He said if he can't fix it he ain't going to ride it anymore.Must be some clever people out there that can help me. HELP.

you tried changing the coolant ?

might sound daft but coolant should be changed every 2 years and it does go off and loose its properties

its worth a try

sounds similar to what my suzuki does when hot. looses a few cylinders at low revs/higher loads, once the revs get up it clears. a lot of carb fiddling has improved it on mine - dunno what i did, just fiddled a lot. mind you my plugs are about 16k old.

just had a thought as i clicked post - HT leads breaking down under the heat/load?

just a suggestion. have you tried a new airfilter? it could be clogged and sucking warm air in not fueling the bike right until it can get sum pressure/cold air in the air box. engines dont like warm air. theres not as much oxygen in it
