Hi

I was wondering if anyone on the forum could help me identify the model type of the bike in the photos I've attached here.

The photos are actually screencaptures of the opening scenes of a 1978 film called "Absolution," a thriller starring Richard Burton and Billy Connolly (in his first feature film.) It is available to watch on YouTube and the bike does appear again further into the film.

I did a quick reg-check and found it's a BSA bike first registered in February 1969, but that's all I know. I really am interested in what model it is and do any members here notice if it's a common, basic bike for it's time or a rarity with customisation, etc. Sorry for the silly questions!

Thanks in advance!

My husband was on set when Billy Connolly was riding it . He was at the time a local mechanic at his family business in Ellesmere Shropshire and was asked to keep it in order during filming . The film was set at Ellesmere college in Ellesmere .
The bike was chosen because Billy Connolly had actually owned one and knew how to ride it .
