iame123 Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Hello, I want to start fixing/restoring things. The only expierence I have is changing brakes and tyres on bicycles. Is this a good motorbike to learn how to fix/clean up motorbikes? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-details/202405250084982?sort=distance&advertising-location=at_bikes&page=6&postcode=DY3 2NN&price-to=1000&fromsra Quote
Simon Davey Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 If you fancy stripping it down, and giving the frame a good rub-down and spray, then a naked bike like that would be a good place to start. There are some great threads in this section that will contain great advice. Now, it may not matter, but that bike has a real mega-high milage. Quote
RideWithStyles Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 not bad start id say as long its a runner. most Hondas & suzukis of that era are quite. high milers aint always a problem its the condition and its upkeep thats more important. 1 Quote
Ian Frog Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 I agree with @RideWithStyles regular use much better than something that has stood unloved for a while, 11 months MOT is also encouraging. Looking on the bright side it`s not a lot of money for a useful hack or a good place to start learning about restoration, on the bad side if it turns out to be a rotbox you should get a fair bit of your money back if you break it for spares. Good luck. Cheers Ian 2 Quote
