cbrcol Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Hi, I have 2 issues with my bike. From cold there is a rattling that seems go away when warm. My thoughts are change oil, cam chain tensioner or valves. The truth is I don't know that's why I am posting. The other issue I have is after I rev the bike from standing idle the revs creep then drop and this keeps repeating. Can't work out how to post a video. The bike is N reg Honda CBR600F 10k on the clock. Quote
AstronautNinja Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Oil filler? My car did exactly the same, oil filler was loose along with a blocked breather Quote
RideWithStyles Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) N reg? That 1974-75 if that’s correct - don’t think they were out at that time. anyways Cam chain tensioner and carbs unbalanced. check cable springs, Cables for slick movements and mounts for not movement. Simon Davey Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) Clutch bearing? Pull the clutch to see if it stops the rattle. Edited July 12, 2024 by Simon Davey Quote

Hairsy Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Definitely balance the carbs. The irregular idle causes mechanical rattling noises at idle. The slow return to idle is also a symptom of carb balancing issues. I had the same symptoms on a bike with the same engine. Balancing solved it. 3 1 Quote
