breff. Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 I'm thinking about the old GSX 250E, 1984. As mentioned elsewhere, the left hand carb's not getting fuel to the engine. I do not have a clue with CV Carb's! Does anybody know where I would look for information about replacing with Slide Carb's, if it's even possible? Quote
Old-codger Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 You would be better off stripping and cleaning the carbs you have possibly getting them ultra sonic cleaned than trying to find something to fit in their place. Just do one carb at a time and take loads of pictures for referance. If you have a manual that will give you the settings for the jets when you put it back together. Make sure to have a good look at the diaphrams for perishing and cracks and replace if needed. 1 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 As OC says, but id plan the possibility of starting with new jets, seals , rubbers, supplied by a trusted source. Check the plastics and replace if in doubt. use E5 at worse, don’t use E10. 1 Quote
breff. Posted August 15, 2024 Author Posted August 15, 2024 It looks like I'll be looking at the Carb's myself. I'm not going to start looking at it until I've got over some surgery, six weeks or so. I've never played with CV carb's before, brother did the "Suck his teeth" and "It's not a job I'd want to do" thing. Last time I worked on Carb's was in the 70's on old British bikes. 1 Quote

There is actually an online abreviation of KMT should you wish to ever "kiss your teeth" at him in return haha 1 Quote
