SuperSonic2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 (edited) Hi all, I passed DAS a couple of weeks ago and picked up a Suzuki Gladius 650 for my first big bike at the age of 37 Plan on keeping it as my ‘whatever’ bike and picking up a Gixxer next year to add to it. I had a 50cc and 125cc when i was a teen but haven't riden since. Absolutely loving being back on a bike. If anyone is in the Hampshire area, would love to meet new people to ride with. Have been out for the last few weeks on my own to loomies etc but dont know anyone else who rides yet. Daryl Edited August 18, 2024 by SuperSonic2024 7 Quote
AstronautNinja Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Great to hear. Got my mod 2 booked for early September. I'm also learning on a gladius, pretty decent bike from my limited experience. Nice to see your not faffing around and getting something decent, I've gone a similar route despite what seems to be the general consensus Quote

The trainer had one for sale so I snapped it up Really nice simple bike to ride and when you pull back the throttle it certainly goes! I do want a K5 Gixxer but insurance was silly for year 1 (over £1200!) and I feel like I need some experience before jumping on something super powerful. Seemed a sensible way of doing things whilst still having fun. Edited August 18, 2024 by SuperSonic2024 1 Quote

I find it nuts some places even quoted £6k on a 200bph bike with zero experience. Pretty much gaurenteed to die in the first few rides "having a crack" at riding something with that power straight out of the test center If I wasn't so far I'd be down for some noob rides Quote
