James Sturgeon Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Hi. I am in the process of clearing all of my late brother's vehicles. One of them is a Honda CB350s 1986. It could be described as a barn find but it's actually been parked on the drive under a cover for a few years. Just trying to get an idea of what it is worth? I have read that it is a rare bike but I know that doesn't mean it's worth big bucks Just don't want to be robbed by a dealer. Any info appreciated. James Sturgeon Quote
Tiggie Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 We had someone selling one on the forum a couple of years ago, looked a nice bike too. Heres a link to the original post, might give you an idea what they could be worth Quote
Capt Sisko Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 (edited) As someone who was an active rider in 80s I've got to say that the CB350S never really lit the fires of passion in the motorcycle world. That's not to say it was a bad bike, just it was one of many mundane middle weight twins and it's rare because Honda didn't sell many of them. A Suzuki GS425, Kawasaki Z400 or Yamaha XS400 all fall into exactly the same bracket for the same reasons. Good enough, practical, cheap to run, but an exciting rocket like an RD400 that now sells for big money because it tugs at the heart strings of reliving your youth, erm no. Now that's not to say it's worthless, if it's old, runs and is in good enough condition some pretty average stuff sells for decent money, but don't expect a dealer to give you that. They have to prep them, replace ancient tyres, knackered batteries, service and warrant it. Honestly, if you were a business would you want to do all that for a nearly forty year old bike that you don't know and that'll only sell for a modest amount? No. If the bike still runs, great, polish it up advertise the positives and someone will buy it just because it's survived and there aren't many left. If it doesn't it's a spares & repairs project that might be difficult to shift as prices of project bike seem to be dropping at the moment. Sorry if that's a bit blunt, but that I think is the reality. Others may have a different opinion. Edited September 17, 2024 by Capt Sisko Quote
