husoi Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) I have just realised that because I won't be able to take the pan to the country I'm moving to. It will be pointless to pay a fortune for the shipment of all my stuff when I can pocket the money and buy what I will need there. 1 container would cost almost 3 grand, plus taxes, a trip to London to have the lair of good validated. Adding to this the cost of "smoothing" customs people and paying the customs office for the release of everything. Adding to this, would have to rent a space to keep the stuff until I manage to sort it. As result, and for anyone interested, I'll be either giving away or if whoever is interested feels generous, in the next couple of weeks I'll be giving away all my tools, bike related or not. Adding to this all the household stuff I didn't manage to sell/give away on Facebook will have to go too. Failing that. It will wither go to recycling centre or some charity willing to take it Almost forgot to mention. Tools are located at Rigside, south of Lanark While household stuff is in Carluke Edited February 28 by husoi 4 Quote
bud Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) It's a shame, but like you said. It's just not viable. I was watching a programme about a couple emigrating to Australia a while ago. He loved his push bike. And his reason to take it was he could get around with it till they brought a car. He needed it straight away so had it on the plane with him. Over a thousand pounds to transport. Then when he got there. It was to far to cycle between places. Edited March 1 by bud 2 Quote
husoi Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 On the bright side. Gives me the choice of either a rebel 1100 or ideally a rebel 500 plus Africa twin 1100 for touring. And will get new bikes instead of quite old ones. 1 Quote
