johnkalbo Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Hi all a bit of help please I am in retirement and have 3 bikes to choose from to buy i would like your input please sazuki vstrom 650 kawasaki 650 versus or yamaha tracer 700. All new bikes it 70th birthday present from my wife we will be 2 up England first then who knows Quote
husoi Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I never trusted Yamaha. Being those the choices I would lean to the versus. Have you visited dealers and had the feel for them? I would start like that first. Nothing like sitting on them and see which one is more comfortable for you Quote
johnkalbo Posted March 2 Author Posted March 2 Yes feel more at home on the suzuki or the versus the suzuki is the road variation no the xt I'm stuck on which with limited experience in engine Quote
Simon Davey Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Hi @johnkalbo, and welcome to the forum. The Versys has a good reputation (as far as I know), but whichever you choose, if you're planning to go two-up more often than not, I would go for 1000cc versions of the bikes you choose. It would probably work out more economical to run a bigger engine, whilst touring with the extra weight of pillion and luggage. Quote
