I have just joined the forum, so will have to get use to how you use it.

I have recently purchased a Sinnus Retrostar 250cc which has been made to look like a vintage Triumph bike. Happy with it, but twice it has cut out at around 60mph and had to coast to the side of the road and restart.  Thought it maybe fuel starvation as okay at speeds below this one maybe electrics. Has any one else come across this problem?  Bike is a 2016 model and looks like it has been well looked after, only has around 4000 miles on the clock.

Any help would be welcome 🙏 🤗

Welcome to the forum Mark, is it cutting out after constant speed at 60 ? if so it sounds like fuel starvation. Does it start straight up once you have coasted to a stop. Is the breather hole in the tank cap blocked or crap blocking the tank or in line filter if it has one. Or it could be the float is set to low. Is there a kink in the fuel pipe restricting flow.

It cuts out just over 60, only been at that speed for a short while. Started up on second attempt when stopped. Will check the items you highlighted.  Project bike at the moment, back wheel out and rebuilding rear brake caliper.  Going to fit new tyres whilst wheels are out. I think it is fuel starvation, so will add you suggestions on my to do list.

Forgot to say that last owner took baffle out of the exhaust and it is running without one.  Do not have it, so can't put it back in.

Thanks for your help.

The baffle - dependent on what the bike fueling was before as std throughtout rev range and gearing within what ever the temp it was set to be at.

What effect it has to push it beyond the starting point-  So I will generalise…it will run leaner, most of the time with injection they will run very lean mid range as to this day and age they are mostly tested and regulated heavily at this point.
So what nearly all bikes and cars (sports exhaust) of mine taking the baffle out will lean the smeg out out it even if the ecu could make some adjustments within its program allowed, making it almost run big hole or almost stop a bike unless it got pass this rev range unless:

the baffle was back in, a different exhaust was put on, the fuel was adjusted to cope or a different air filter (depending on std setup) was in. So really there isn’t a really fast route unless its completely bog standard and your prepared to make allowances for what has been done previously.
