rosszx9r Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Hi,i need a new set of discs and pads for my zx9r and like the look of the fancy waivy EBC discs. they are a good price (~£100 per disc) but are they any good?i know EBC are popular but is it cos they are cheap? also, what pads are recomended for normal road use? i see the are a number of different grades, HH being quite common.thanks,Ross Quote
Guest Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 ebc are a good make ive had a few of their discs. double h sintered are good level of pads, if youve got ebc discs fit what they recommend Quote
rennie Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 i've got ebc sintered pads in mine, work well but make a funny hissing noise Quote
ade38 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Ive got armstrong wavey discs on mine and they still look good, no rust or corrosion but hink they're slightly warped which has annoyed me, but ebc i've been led to belive are one of the best and thats not a bad price! Quote
Stu Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 ive heard EBC are prone to warping not sure how true it is though whay not go for Galfer ? about £380 for front and rears with pads and they are top quality EBC's cheap pads green i think they call them are crap too soft with no feel and dont last long the HH are good though Quote
rennie Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 yeah hh is what i've got, not sure about discs you probably get what you pay for Quote

Hoody Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 i've got ebc sintered pads in mine, work well but make a funny hissing noise Hissing noise will be discs 'floating'. They are attached to the carrier with bobbins to allow some movement for better efficiency and reverbrate when pads are applied. Quote
