Guest Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Got a friend with a ZX6, she was pushing bike in to garage other night and heard a clunking coming from back wheel... have had it on paddock stand, theres no free play in either direction, no crud stuck anywhere, cant see it being bearings as they new... any ideas?? Guest Hodgy Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Chain?.........Brake pads? Was it being pushed backwards? perhaps it was because the chain was revolving the wrong way and taking up any slack? Quote
Guest Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 chain is fine.. discs arent warped, pads are fine.. was on paddock stand and rotated in both directions, Quote

Guest scol1 Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Yep,cush drive.Cush Drive: A rubber cushion between the drive hub and the wheel.Reduces 'snatch' on taking up drive and also prolongs chain life.................................piss ball to fit.J Quote
Guest Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 cheers guys.. will have peep at it this evening ) Quote
Guest nigelf Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 its more than lightly the disk pads if it was ridden in the wet and parked for a while before being put back into the garage. they could have been stuck to the disk with road crap, especially this time of year where the stuff they put in the grit is molassus (sugar) to aid sticking the grit to the road. this can act like glue when heated and cause the pads to adhere to the disk. Once the disk is rotated they click free and on my pan cause a clonk sound.PS as an aside the mollasus they add actually makes the roads slippery!Nigel Quote
