Kawaskis are infamous for having poor cush drive rubbers, sounds like it could possibly be those.

took the words right out of my mouth

check the cush drive rubbers

And mine

Yep,cush drive.

Cush Drive: A rubber cushion between the drive hub and the wheel.

Reduces 'snatch' on taking up drive and also prolongs chain life.

................................piss ball to fit.

its more than lightly the disk pads if it was ridden in the wet and parked for a while before being put back into the garage. they could have been stuck to the disk with road crap, especially this time of year where the stuff they put in the grit is molassus (sugar) to aid sticking the grit to the road. this can act like glue when heated and cause the pads to adhere to the disk. Once the disk is rotated they click free and on my pan cause a clonk sound.

PS as an aside the mollasus they add actually makes the roads slippery!
