Guest Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Yesterday, gave them the keys and just said sort it out it's your fault! Ready today, drove it home ok, we'll see what happens!'Mechanic' said the choke blew a fuse???! Mmmmmm. Quote
Stu Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 find another garage!!!!!!the choke has no fuse at all its cable operated Quote
Guest Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 If that is true I would go straight to trading standards and get them involved. That way you might get a full refund of your expenses so far. Quote
Guest Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 I haven't had to pay for any extra work. The only possible connection from the choke to the leccy system I could think of was a carb-heater thingy. I'll give it a run-in over the weekend and see if it keeps its charge. Quote
Guest Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 If they haven't charged you for any of this I wonder what the point of the runaround is.Take it somewhere else for an assessment and get a quote for the work. Quote
Guest Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Forks, brake pedal, bars were the original work done (last weekend) after waiting a month for them to order the right parts, the electrical stuff just happened when I got it back off them! Just annoyed that they somehow stuffed the electrics when they had no reason to touch them. They changed the fuse and it seems to work OK now. Oh well, you live and learn! I'd just like some kind of explanation from them as to what happened that didn't sound made up on the spot! Quote
Guest Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Oh, my battery covers missing! They must have taken it for a memento? Quote
