SAT; Full Breakfast, Ride out, BBQ - Sirloin steak, mushrooms and roast potatoes. Drink, nibbles, cheesecakes, BBQ burgers and sausages for the munchies.

The are is great as a party point for most of the lakes. Last August's event saw us take in all of the five passes. Even many veteran bike riders were impressed and enjoyed the day.

By all means plot some rides out. Last year we all went off as one group, though there was talk of people doing different rides at different times.

I did the 5 passes run this year with JadeMongoose, had a blast.. i'll have a think might come up with something that'll be just as good, if not better.. scenic and winding...

Not quite sure what life will be throwing at me by then - it's not been good of late to put it mildly. Only down the road in Ulverston though so if I can't make the full weekend I may manage the ride (so long as slow noobies are allowed... and my bike is either working or replaced by then!)

Yes this is still on - just seemed a bit too far off to mention.

However, Miss Sparkle will be planting herbs such as chives, mint, coriander etc tomorrow and they should be ready to crop round about the last week of May.

I'll start collecting deposits this week and seeing what people want to drink etc.

I wish everyone the very best - as some people have already had to drop out due to redundancy/job loss. So regardless of what you are doing this Summer I hope you remain employed

If this is still going ahead can you let us know where the ride on the Saturday is starting? I think me and simon are still up for it, and we can lead a bit of a route round The Lakes if required.

If you're camping at high wray then I could suggest the big carpark by the lake at Waterhead (next to Ambleside) for a meeting/starting point - as it's on the main road through the lakes and there is a petrol station nearby in Ambleside if anyone needs fuel.

Stage 1 High Wray, Coniston, Coast Road, Winlatter to brew stop at Bird Centre before Keswick.

66 miles, approx 1.5 hrs

Stage 2 Bird centre, ontop a66 then cut down beyond Keswick to Ambleside.

25 miles. 35 mins

Here is ideal to break off if you wanted to

Stage 3 Ambleside, Troutbeck to avoid traffic, to A6 north then Pooley bridge

38 miles 47 mins, brew

Stage 4

Pooley Bridge to High Wray via Ambleside

22 miles 30 mins

Total 150 miles ish

Total travel time approx 3.5 hrs

plus brews so say 5.5 hrs max

I reckon set off from high wray at 11.30

Bird centre at keswick by approx 13.00

Leave bird centre at approx 13.30

Ambleside for approx 14.00

Pooley Bridge by maybe 15.00

Leave pooley bridge 15.30

Home for tea 16.00-16.30

Would be ideal going the other way though, which would enable more to get access to teh ride easier

i.e

Leave high wray 11.30

Meet Kendal for say 12.00-12.15

Pooley Bridge by approx 13.00-13.15 (brew)

Leave 13.45

Ambleside for 14.15

Beyond Keswick (bird centre) for maybe 14.45 (brew)

Leave approx 15.15

Coast road and back to High Wray for 17.00
