Put petrol from a jimmy can in to a plastic jug to pour it in to the bike? I cant remember but doesnt petrol melt plastic or something?

Itd only be for a few seconds, just to transfer it over, but i dont want bits of plastic going in the tank too!!

depnds on the plastic... i've used milk cartons for storing degreasant without any problems, but they crack / weaken micro meals for one dishes.. if its just for fluid transfer and noit storage you should be ok.. for storage i'd always use an approved container, more for identification than anything else..
