Hi All, New here. Back story, X semi completive rider that took time off to have family and not getting back into it to burn off some mid life belly fat and kick around with kids !! I have just brought a 2021 CRF450RX I have only managed to spend about 10min on it so far but I and well impressed at what a weapon this thing is. However I only managed 10min due to a starter issue and a long walk home (amazing how far you can get in 10min on this thing!). I have attached a photo of the starter with a worn out armature. The clutch gear looks to be ok. My question is to you all is what is likely to cause this? additionally it maybe worth adding that the armature does not spin freely with no power connected. Could it be posable that the clutch gear is not throwing out on start up and it just ate the starter? is it maybe something I'm doing on start up? (assuming there is a thrust bearing in there somewhere? any theory's or advice would be greatly appreciated before I go and order parts or worse pull clutch assembly apart.
