  1. Hi thanks for that Keith, however it isn't the studs that are the problem as they are new, its the block itself as it has cracked from when I taped the old ones out as they were welded in and had to grind them off. Murph
  2. Killing flys...what fun and going for a run...probably with them chasing me lol

    Speedo cable

If you need to lube the new cable use some 3 in 1 oil, works a treat. Used it on my brake cable.
  4. Lexmoto/Haotian front end? Looks good.

    Exhausts

+1 on that also if they believe that it is unrestricted and there for are unlicenced to ride the bike/scooter etc then you will be breaching the terms of your insurance as you have modified your vehicle and there for making it illegal for them to ride it, insurance may be terminated.

    Exhausts

Will do, and will put pics up. Had to make up some bull excuse for my mum to why I am spending money on a new exhaust, but it all depends on whether I can get a F*%$ING bolt out! Its rusted in there like a mother f*cker! Hit it with a hammer! No joking, if all else fails grind it off

  8. Peugeot ludix Blasters are fairly good and quite nippy. And ye it will have an electric start
  9. Check the bolts? Garage might have removed it and not tightened it up properly.
  10. Not dumb really, they can be good bikes. If you ever go to view or buy a bike get them to start it and then start it yourself so there is no foul play and then you can see for yourself if anything is wrong. If you get a bike delivered always ask them to start it or start it infront of them to make sure it is fine. What was wrong with it then?
  11. Did you get it done at a garage? have you checked for a choke? Could it be your throtle isn't adjusted right, check it has enought free play as if your throttle has no play then you are going to get a faster rev idle faster than if you had the right play, will be in your manuel the right specs.
  12. Hi there, sounds a bit like my story above. When I went back the second time I had blue riped gloves on and when I took the off at the end my hads were died blue, looked like I had badly bruised my hand. Don't let it get you down, when I passed of a scooter I bought a geared bike and just went around my local streets to gain my confidence on it. You could always get a bike and just ride it to a car park and practice...theres always the scuba kit place Pretty bad that he didn't stop you both and replaced the earpiece for the girl as its standard safety for the instructor to be able to comunicate with every pupil incase of an acsident or emergency. Helmets are meant to be tight but not painful, you are meant to have plumped cheeks (kinda looking like a fat kid with its face shut in a lift).
  13. Never realised it was a scooter. Anyway does your scooter have a air choke? As the Haotian I owned did and got nocked easily and made the bike speed up and idle fast when stood still at light etc and then obviously when put back to normal it is fine again. Not to sure about scooters as only ever had motorbikes (only ever ridden a scooter once in the pouring rain) so might sound dumb if they dont have chokes. Check the choke? Mine was on the left handlebar and was a sliding one (all way left is off...all way right is fully on...anything inbetween is on but not fully). Might be on your carb if so will be a push and pull one (pushed in is off...pulled out is on). If that is no help and nothing to do with ur scooter but what the hell you learnt something about chokes.
  14. Thanks Tango. Yeah would like to build something bigger, or make this better but only time will tell as money is key. I think if i sold it for a reasonable sum and could get a project for a cheap I would definatley do it again. Its just a good feeling as I can now say 'I build that!'.
  15. Yeah definatley, learnt alot when doing it. Should get a MT50 nice little bike and straight forward. A few on ebay that don't need much doing to them. What I like about them is you can use alot of bikes for donours such as all the MTs & MBs, the H100 engine fits nicely in and the CR80 can be used aswell for parts such as the swingarm. Seen one with a AM6 engine in it but you need to mount a radiator as its water cooled. I wanted to put a CR80 Swingarm and eather a big bore (60cc) cylinder on it or a h100 engine.
  16. Ok so about 6 years ago I bought this honda from my uncle and decided that I would do it up. When I got the bike I was over the moon as I had always had a love for motorbikes and quads but never owned one, only been on a Honda quad 500cc, not sure what it was called as was too busy tearing up a field to care. Anyway I came to the point after teaching myself how to ride the bike to strip it down, oh boy, and what a lot of suprises it had. Most of the parts were in pretty good condition and been painted with a brush silver. Some parts were just rust holding hands and some parts were just welded on such as the exaust studs. So when I ground dow the Nuts on the exaust to get the exaust off I managed to free the engine. I then came to get the cylinder head off but that wasnt going to happen, they were seazed good, tryed everything I could to try free them so in the end i had to grind them off which I didn't want to do but had no choice. [album]478[/album] So after that reavealed another problem, the cylinder head studs were rusted through and one snaped when removing the cylinder head. So I got some mole grips to get them out but the snaped one wouldnt budge so had to grind that and drill and tap it. No problem, just needed to find some new studs (might of as well went searching for the lost ark). I found some new exaust studs no problem and drill and tapped them and fitted them, the right side had crached so was loose. Nothing metal poxy puty stuff cant fix So I have a bike all striped down and spent hours searching for new studs and couldnt find any, I looked for a new engine but was to pricy so in the end i gave up not one for quiting. So i boxed up the parts and put it all away. The bike ended up outside for for a few years as had no room for it as i now had a 125 for geting about on. 2 years later after selling my 125 i decided to photo and try sell my MT50. [album]477[/album] [album]479[/album] When doing so I just spent a few minutes thinking where or not I should try and build it back up as I spent alot of time cleaning all the parts. I decided that I would keep the bike and search for the studs once more and if I couldnt get any I would sell the bike as spares or repairs and woohooo! i found a busines called lings honda which was selling NOS parts from all honda bikes including the MT50 so I got 4x new studs and nuts, and gaskets for the cylinder and cylinger head. So I was now on my way to VICTORY!!!!! Kinda So now that I had the parts on the way I decided to spray the bike a new colour as the seat had been re apulstered blue I opted for a blue and white theme for it. So i went down to my local halfords and bought some cans and got on my way. So now the mudgar, cowel, tank and rear mudguard was white I needed to decide what was to be blue. So I chose the forks which turned out great. The parts came and got them fitted and everything flew together, apart from the piston having a Chinese missing in the scirt and one of the rings was broken slightly, everything was fine . I got the bike running and was very happy untill when I installed a new piston and rings and she wouldnt start. Turned out one of the rings had cracked so I replaced it and fired her up I now had the bike finished, all that was left was to find some decals/stickers to make it look a bit more apealing and to cover the roughth bits . I replaced the airfilter as old one needed new foam and got rid of all that silver paint which covered the forks and shocks and revealed nice crome. Also added a few aditional items which I salvaged Here she is finished. [album]475[/album] [album]476[/album] [album]474[/album] New parts: Trails Tailpipe salvaged off a woman in Liverpool Renthal 773 handlebars Power Cone 29mm Airfilter Piston Kit Cylinder studs and bolts Exaust Studs and Bolts LH Side Pannel was red, painted white King/Master Chain Locking Link Sunline MX Grips Throttle Cable Cylinder and Cylinder Head Gaskets NGK Spark Plug NGK Spark Plug Cap Front Break Lever Patriot Brush/Hand Guards Needs: Cylinder as the exaust studs have come loose as it has cracked, held on tight with metal poxy putty. Works a treat. RH Pannel Gear Lever, current one had snapped and just bodged to make it work. Just the matter of deciding what to do with it, had a little go of her yesterday and runs fine, not road legal and dont have anywhere to go with her or any means of a trailer to get her there. Contemplating selling her but would have to be the right price as alot of time and money went into the build, and not to menthin blood, sweat and tears...the little bitch! Thanks for reading, this is my first build and first bike.
  17. No sorry im from Teesside. Have you adjusted it to the right specs. My bike came with a small manuel but was no use as it had been translated from chinese and all pictures and graphs were still in chinese. If you dont have one there is a chinese bikes manuel on ebay which costs about £15, features the lexmoto bikes.
  18. Hi mate, I had a Haotian a few years ago, just the same as Lexmotos. Everything you said happened to me and all it was was it needed the idle screw adjusting on the carb. The wheel spinning when it starts, guesing on the center stand, is normal, mine did it from new. Also the pinging is likely just the engine cooling down. I would recomend get a new NGK sparkplug for that model as if its still got the standard one from new in they are cheap and nasty. Also just one other thing if you find yourself with no electrics, its the fuse. Mine blew fairly quickly when I puled onto the drive and pressed the horn, but replaced it with a better one. They are considered cheap bikes as they are just old chinese technology and copys of Honda bikes mainly but if you look after it they are good learned bikes. Hope you get it sorted. Murph
  19. Really? A Harley Davidson is a good option for a 15 year old looking for a learner legal bike he can tinker with? Are you on Heroin and drain cleaner? (I await your spam posts to start after you have amazed us all with your massive knowledge about bikes for 5 or so posts) My sides hurt! Maybe means Airfix?
  20. Ye it is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariel_W/NG_350
  21. Good stuff, glad you got it sorted. If you are unable to find parts in the future i would recomend using that website, used it a few months back vgood.
  22. Hi mate found you one, great website been using it for parts for a while. Number 14 and 20 is what you are after? http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_mo ... ock_03=711
  23. Bit cunfused but is it after market (replica) or standard NOS (new old stock) parts? If its after market it could be that they are the right size but been made on the cheap and not correct or simply just new and advertised wrong or even just been suplied with wrong washers, you could contact the seller or dealer and say they supplied wrong washers and they might send you a replacement and if they are the same it might just be dodgy parts if not and correct, jobs a good one! Sorry not much help, just what i think might be the problem.
  24. The story of the CBT and The Tit. I did my CBT a few years ago and I dare say it was a totally shit experience...apart from being able to ride a motorbike. I went to a place in Billingham in Teesside called ACE Motorcycle Training and all seemed alright on arival, had a large car park, big building, and shipment containers...thought these were for the bikes...YES that is correct but one was the office! So i though that was a bit odd as they had a fairly big building. Anyway I sat down in the container going through my details and payment etc and then was handed to a man, can't remember his name...lets call him 'the tit', well we went into the building for the first time where he drew a few pics of signs and busses etc to see if i had any road knowledge and then told me i looked like the type of person who looks quiet but would smash someones face in in a heart beat and scare everyone...ok a bit odd as i just turned 18 at the time. Me and the tit went outside and showed me the bike, it was a Honda CG125, and then pointed out parts of the bike and asked if i knew what they were and what they did and I passed that easily as i was striping my Honda MT50SL down to rebuild at the time and had a fair knowledge of bike engines etc. He then started with daily and weekly checks such as oil, petrol, tyres etc and when it came to the forks he said you need to keep an eye on the seals and if you see oil on the forks then its a sign/or the seals have gone, he then trailed off and I looked at the forks and to my amazement they were oily ... so i pointed it out as i didnt want to be getting face planted on the road ... and the tit said 'oh ye....i will let them know and put that in the book' f**k me! Now heres were it gets worse, I am now getting onto this bike and told to start it, i turn the key and i press the electric starter and nothing...flat battery so i kick it and get it started and then ride it forward to a stop and then told to ride around and get a feel. I then go through basic movement and hand the bike to the tit so he can show me a basic turning, change lane and stop and after this as i go to get back on the bike the tit says these bikes are easy to wheelie and he gets back on and tries to wheelie it with no success and almost falling off. Anyway I do the basic manover and told to do it again and again till i get it tip top as a few times i stalled and when i cracked it i looked over to my right and he had f**ked off, so i keep doing it and then the tit apears and says 'thats mint well done you got it' so i though i would now be moving on to something else...nope...he f**ked off again. When he finaly apeared and went through a few more things i parcked the bike up and put it on its master stand and chained it up and handed him the key, he then told me he is off now and got to go back to duram and that he would of took me around the streets but he forgot a radio (bollocks), so I am confused by this (i have never been to billingham before and was given a lift to the center) he then said i should go to the boss in the container, and the boss said he is going for some dinner and will be going for 10-15mins and that there are a few shops a few streets away if i wanted to get anything (all i wanted was to pass and be gone). He then locked everything up and went. I was left there on my own for 30mins and when he finaly returned he told me to put a radio and hi-jacket on. This is the boss and not the instructer. We go through the prosedure if i dont hear an instruction to tap helmet and if its not that and a problem with the bike to tap helmet again (this guy did his job properly and made sure i knew what he was showing me before i left) i was then told to ride the bike around while he got ready just to warm it up, we went out and did u turns, emergency stops (got told off because i had my thingers over the clutch ready to engage for the stop ) We then rode around the streets some more and got back to the center where he said i have failed today... because i wasnt checking my blind spots...i was always checking my mirrors and checking next to me when turning but just because i felt the need...the instructor never mentioned blind spots. I was then to come back at a later date to do my test again this time with the boss and a other learner, this time i was on a beat up smashed in twist and go 50cc scooter, not a clue what it was, to scratched to tell, looked like a chinese import. This time it was pissing it down badly, and went out to try it again, and remebered to check blind spots mirrors and signal, watch my speed etc, needly flew off the bugger on a roundabout felt the back end slide a bit, well long story short i passed. Hurray! If you read all this im sorry i was bored and i bet you are too after reading this haha.

    Is this normal?

CG125 is a great bike, did my cbt on one, however it was a shambles, fork seals had gone and battery was almost dead, plus the instructor was an idiot and tried to wheely it. Anyway I used to have a similar problem with my 125 and it was just a matter of it running a bit rich, easily sorted by doing what Tango has said and adjust the idle screw to the proper specs, worked for me and never needed the choke for starting. I would recomend using petrol and a bristle brush to clean your carb. Hope you get it sorted Jon and ride safe mate.
