DVLA couldn't care less about what you own or ride, there are no checks for what use your license has, as long as they've not removed it by accident and you didn't notice your fine.

Take a pic of your licence if you ever send it off, they do make errors.

Exactly what I did when renewing recently, I made a good quality scan of both sides.

It came back perfect, so hopefully that's all been sorted in the past couple of years.

it would be worth a substantial fraction of a million pounds.

its not unusual to see highly valuable plates on affordable vehicles. It’s a completely safe investment. 2 digit plates are normally owned by cities. Or undertakers. Or the super wealthy.

i bet there’s a very interesting story behind it showing up on a fiesta.

my funny story about a special plate. I was on the M1 heading south and came across a Bentley. It’s number plate was MAG1C.

I slowed down to admire it. (I’ve always liked Bentleys) and eventually carried on. Stopped at  Toddington for a smoke and in pulled the Bentley and parked very close to me. The driver got out. He was remarkably short and looked at me. I said Hello… hope I didn’t make you nervous, but I’ve always admired Bentleys and I Love your number plate. He said that’s ok mate and he went into the services with his wife. It was Paul Daniels.

Lovely story, may his chirpy little soul rest in peace

Yesterday riding home it was great -  very few cars until I got to Cirencester then I must have met up with the school pick up mob as the road was clogged with some twit going at 40 mph everywhere and a tailback half a mile long.

My mother in law shops in Cirencester, but in her 80's, she's still bombing around at 90 everywhere 😂

My Arai Chaser X is tight … at the TT last year I took it to the Arai tent … the techs there said it was a “Race” fit helmet … and cleaned and replaced bits various  ..

    l like tight …… my LS2 is comfortable …maybe even loose ….

One day, I'll splash the cash, if I ever earn it 😂

If your helmet is too big for your head you really ought to consider ditching it. Too big and it may well not do what it's supposed to do in the event of an off.

Already sitting in the corner covered in flies.

Just moved my Cardo across to my Shark.

Currently looking at decent helmet options.

Oddly(??) though, this cheap Shark, is just so darned comfortable, it's a bitch to get on and off though.

  6. I went out this morning, my ride back was very busy with cars, plenty of overtaking but also plenty of sitting there awaiting the opportunity.

Now I'm home, I can hear the frustration on the roads around me, just short bursts of power, bikers hoping to just get past the car in front, and when they do, more cars. .

I'm going to try my best to have weekday rides during the summer.

Be patient and stay safe people.

  7. Had a great ride out this morning, just 45 minutes each way.

I thought I'd use my spare helmet, a new Shark Ridill 1.2 (clearance stock), it's so comfortable compared to my HJC i90, which is far too big for my head, and is so heavy by comparison.

I really did miss the Pinlock though, it was cold and misty on the ride out, so visor open for most of the outgoing journey.

Currently looking for a Pinlock to fit the Shark.

the leak? if the outside surface of the piston is to worn (from being polished to remove imperfections) or scarred from bodging, pressure might be affected so at the mo if the MC doesnt give you the results your expectating then new pistons might be a good idea.

There's a place in north London that does them to order.

In fact, they do a complete refurb of the caliper if required.

  9. Just to report back.

It was all pretty simple really.

The pistons were pretty well jammed into the crusty old seals, which had been changed before. This was evident by the plier marks on the pistons left by the previous bodge.

The old pads were very thick, but I replaced them anyhoo.

I polished out the marks on the pistons there were some small burrs.

Got it all back together easily enough, went to Halfords and bought a new torque wrench

Spent forever bleeding the brakes, and I'm still not 100% happy with the pressure, but I'm going to do a master cylinder rebuild to see if that helps.

You can see a slight leak, it's where the piston had been put back in with plier marks, the burrs had damaged the seals.

Thanks again for the input folks.

  10. Not had this problem, as I was never as well planned as you.

Marriage and children should only be the concern of you and your girlfriend.

Discuss your concerns with her, and between the two of you, think of an answer to give people, then you can speak loud and clear, and those "regulars" will get the message.

If you both decide you'll have kids when you're good and ready, then you can both make that message heard.

  11. Pulled the front brake calipers apart, I even put them back together. They're now a lot cleaner, and with new seals, polished up pistons and new pads.

They're a bugger to bleed though, and I can still get the lever to the bar on occasion.

Still went for a 90 minute blap last night though 😁
