  1. I'm going out tonight, just to squeeze in a few miles before a week of rain, when I'll be doing an oil and filter change. Amongst my excitement, I'll try to find head space for thinking about the balancing.. Cheers
  2. Apologies for hijacking the thread, does anyone balance their tyres? Found one of my weights next to my front wheel, and I can see where it was stuck, but I've never noticed weights on bike wheels. Wondering whether to pop to my friendly local tyre fitter for another?
  3. Looks very smart, I really like the heat shield. You're only seeing a tiny bit more of the cat, it's just more noticeable because the new can is smaller than the original. How about some matt black fire paint? The kind they spray on log burners etc, that would hide the cat. Something like this (although this is a paint) https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-sp5-heat-resistant-stove-paint-matt-b/
  4. Now I'm just drooling more than I usually do. Wishing you a good holiday.
  5. I love my Cardo, I have yet to use it for chat, but the"hey Cardo " commands are pretty good, and you can still use" OK Google " and the Siri commands. The battery life is excellent too.
  6. Exactly what I did when renewing recently, I made a good quality scan of both sides. It came back perfect, so hopefully that's all been sorted in the past couple of years.
  7. Lovely story, may his chirpy little soul rest in peace
  8. It's only been a week since I cut the grass, but the ducks are still trying to hide...
  9. All we need now is your bank account number
  10. My mother in law shops in Cirencester, but in her 80's, she's still bombing around at 90 everywhere
  11. One day, I'll splash the cash, if I ever earn it
  12. Already sitting in the corner covered in flies. Just moved my Cardo across to my Shark. Currently looking at decent helmet options. Oddly(??) though, this cheap Shark, is just so darned comfortable, it's a bitch to get on and off though.
  13. Happy Birthday older grump
  14. I went out this morning, my ride back was very busy with cars, plenty of overtaking but also plenty of sitting there awaiting the opportunity. Now I'm home, I can hear the frustration on the roads around me, just short bursts of power, bikers hoping to just get past the car in front, and when they do, more cars. . I'm going to try my best to have weekday rides during the summer. Be patient and stay safe people.
  15. Had a great ride out this morning, just 45 minutes each way. I thought I'd use my spare helmet, a new Shark Ridill 1.2 (clearance stock), it's so comfortable compared to my HJC i90, which is far too big for my head, and is so heavy by comparison. I really did miss the Pinlock though, it was cold and misty on the ride out, so visor open for most of the outgoing journey. Currently looking for a Pinlock to fit the Shark.
  16. There's a place in north London that does them to order. In fact, they do a complete refurb of the caliper if required.
  17. Good morning It's going to be a nice morning, and I have an excuse to get out on the bike for an hour, instead of working...
  18. Just to report back. It was all pretty simple really. The pistons were pretty well jammed into the crusty old seals, which had been changed before. This was evident by the plier marks on the pistons left by the previous bodge. The old pads were very thick, but I replaced them anyhoo. I polished out the marks on the pistons there were some small burrs. Got it all back together easily enough, went to Halfords and bought a new torque wrench Spent forever bleeding the brakes, and I'm still not 100% happy with the pressure, but I'm going to do a master cylinder rebuild to see if that helps. You can see a slight leak, it's where the piston had been put back in with plier marks, the burrs had damaged the seals. Thanks again for the input folks.
