  2. Hello all, I’m trying to get an old Kawasaki Z200 that has been sitting in a shed for 20 years running, it had no battery so I put one in, connected the earth fine, but when the hot lead came into contact with the positive terminal of the battery for 10 secs smoke appeared and a small pop was heard, after looking the regulator-rectifier is what’s smoking and the rubber/epoxy it’s sealed it has a small cut where is blown out from the inside. I father did say he thought it was bad but couldn’t remember, what I am hoping to know is was this just because of a bad regulator-rectifier unit or is this the result of something else as I don’t want to buy a new unit for that one to blow also. attached are some images of the underside of the regulator-rectifier unit where the rubber/epoxy is Any help is greatly appreciated
