I hope someone here can help me get back on two wheels I've recently moved from South Africa to the UK. I couldn't face selling my 990 Adventure so I brought it with me, but three months later she's still sitting on the battery charger with a ZA plate. I have: Original South African registration document The NOVA/TOR clearance document from HMRC A "Letter of Authenticity" from KTM UK (which cost me £180...) A UK passport and proof of residence/address As far as I can tell I need to now submit a V55/5 form, after which I can do the MOT and get a plate made, but I'm not certain of the order of those steps. The V55/5 form asks for a "Type approval number/category", which comes from the "Certificate of Conformity". Either that or I can provide an "Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval (MSVA) certificate". I don't know where to get either of those things, or whether I actually need them. Please can someone help me through this red tape? Edit - added proof of life

Thanks Haha yeah my "super-ventilated-keeps-you-ultra-cool-5000" jacket and gloves were never going to cut it here. I immediately bought myself a Rev'it Afterburn H2O jacket and Rev'it Contrast Gore-Tex gloves (from SportsBikeShop of course) but they haven't seen a single mile of use yet Thanks very much. I've been sent to that page a few times but there are technicalities I'm struggling with. I'll start a thread for it.

I moved to North Yorkshire from Johannesburg, South Africa a few months ago and brought my 990 Adventure with me (also brought a wife and some kids). One of my first questions on the forum will be how to get my pony on the road! I was a very active member of the Think Bike and Wild Dogs biking forums in South Africa and am looking forward to settling in with a new crowd here.
