  1. True that.

Alright have bought some new bits and bobs, put them on and connected them up and still no joy.

    Wire loom

    ECU

    Ignition switch

    Instrument cluster

And nothing YET. I am at a loss atm because anything wrong with the old wire loom I'd have thought would be fixed with the new one, however it only seems to have made things a little worse which is strange because everything is connected up as and where they should be.

For some reason now the horn button only makes the left indicator light up but not flash, yet on the instrument cluster the indicator plus the neutral lights are flashing and I've a good thought on what could be causing that and before anyone says it yes I have checked the cables, yes I have checked the connections and they are fine.

  2. It's a Lexmoto Venom 125.

Wouldn't have thought it to be a dodgy earth and so it seems the battery holds the charge fine if I try to start the bike remotely, just not when using the push start.

Will have a look through all of the connections, and check the battery again with a multimeter and see what is happening later on.

  3. Recently I have been having issues with regard to the instrument cluster as nothing lights up other than the neutral light, now the bike does start and run as normal before anyone asks ^^

Issues already marked off the list / fixed...

    1) Ignition switch was faulty so took that off and had to clean the contacts as they were corroded to hell, tested afterward and working fine.

    2) Bought a new instrument cluster and tested the old one, both do work fine after testing however there is a faulty fuel gauge on the old one (Neither work when connected to the harness).

    3) Fuses checked and are fine

    Current issues...

    1) Instrument cluster isn't working when the ignition is on, the only light that shows on the display is the neutral light and not even the speedo needle moves either it just remains at 0 MPH.

    2) Recently found the push start to be draining the battery, what could be going on there? (Had this issue since it all started, luckily I have a remote start / alarm / immobiliser installed on the bike of which works fine)

A while ago and I am talking about 2-3 weeks ago I took the bike off the road to get the rear break caliper sorted as I got a replacement for it and fitted that onto the bike with new pads. I then went to start the bike and got no joy as the battery went flat due to the cold weather (Bare in mind I don't have a garage), so I took the battery off to charge it however when trying to start the bike everything was working fine electrical wise beforehand yet whilst trying to start it the speedo needle got stuck at 80 MPH and the lights started flashing red on the old instrument panel.

So I thought there was an issue with the instrument panel itself and bought a new one then fitted and connected it up when it arrived, I then turned the ignition on and got nothing on the instrument panel other than the neutral light until I turned the steering to the right because my father was doing something and when I turned it back to centre the instrument panel all lit up, the speedo needle did the up then down thing so I know that it worked, but only briefly.

Since then it hasn't worked even though the instrument panel itself when disconnected and tested off the bike, does work fine so I know the issue lies with the wiring on the bike maybe even with the loom however I do not see any issues with the harness itself as all of the connections and wires seem fine.

I did notice again that the push start button is draining the battery and don't know why because it were fully charged one minute and as soon as I pressed the push start button it tried to start but the battery ran out of juice, and I held it for a second and no longer. Knowing that being an issue, what else is connected to the push start and runs in sequence when using the electric start?

Has anyone had this issue before with their bike?

  4. Stu does prune a few occasionally! :D

The thing is people do sometimes go quiet for years then come back

    There is one today

Numerous forums and or communities are like this where their users who would post constantly all of a sudden go quiet, no it doesn't mean that they have been abducted it just means that whatever they have going on it be more important than the forum or community IE LIFE!

Zod went quiet for a year...Just like a boomerang, Zod came back...:D

  5. Well you know...

All of that probing they did were no good to them what so ever because I guess it never satisfied them in the way they'd have thought it would. Eventually they got fed up and abducted someone else having left me in some desolate area. And blah blah blah :D

  6. the mothership brought you back at last??

welcome back mate - what you been upto?

Unfortunately no. The mothership spat me out a long time ago!

And well not been up to much other than being in and out of work, planning on doing the full test and having that back firing on me. And so on, passed the theory first attempt and hoping now to do the full test and move up to a bigger bike now by Oct...

  11. \nyone who likes their job will not get bored. those who dont like their job will as they will not look to do it to the same standard.

but how can you, the op, be a cleaner and get bored!!! there is no such thing as nothing to clean lol

Over time folk will begin to dislike the job they are doing as they get tired of doing more or less the same thing over and over though, Bex is right.

  12. Sign up > Test > Induction > Get in > Phase 1 > Passing out > Phase 2.

In the armed forces you can do whatever test and get a licence for whatever you decide on doing, of course folk here who've been in the HMAF will know this. I wouldn't have thought that unless you've done P1 other than a normal car/bike test then you wouldn't be able to do any other test until you've passed P1 though that is depending on which faction you are going into.

I'll be going into the 3RD BT Royal Welsh once I've decided that I'm fit enough to jump in and hopefully, pass the first physical step before the induction/recruitment process.

  13. Repair engineer at an electronics company.

To make time fly I either get a faulty TV and plug it in/tune it in and either stick on the radio or put on a DVD. Really though? There isn't much you can do to make time fly at work...Especially if the day is dragging out like hell. Unless of course you've got your own entertainment :D
