  1. So I've had my YBR for a good while now and for a while I've been okay with the current tyres that it has but really? I'm starting to go off them a bit because you cannot bank on them and nor are they any good...Was thinking about getting thicker tyres for the bike but I'm not sure of whether I should or not because well I don't know if the bike would take thicker tyres?

The front tyre is okay but its just the rear, too thin tbh. Was wondering, for those whom has a YBR, would I be able to fit a thicker rear tyre or not?

  2. I have a Duchinni D619 flip up, got a bluetooth kit but hardly ever use it. I try to keep my phone off whilst on the road or turn it on silent...

But I'd say a good bluetooth helmet would probably be the Caberg Konda, looks a decent enough helmet with bluetooth connectivity.

Or there is of course the C3 (Cannot exactly type out the full name as I cannot remember it off by heart).

    But, I don't think you'd be wanting to fork out say £400 for a C3 :D

  3. A man walks into a bar, the bar kills the man.

A man walks into a pub...

Man > Hey there, are there any zoo's around?

    Barman > Nope.

Man > Are there any zoo's with penguins around?

    Barman > Nope.

Man > Good because I think I've just run over a nun.

Poor old Jimmy has lost his wife in a biking accident...

To drown his sorrows he's head off into his local pub where of course he gets himself drunk and so his life long friend has to walk him home because there are no taxi ranks around the area, whilst Teddy walks Jimmy home they walk into the cemetary and walk up to Jim's wife's grave...

Teddy > Er Jimmy, ye do realize her arse has been left un burried?

Jimmy > Aye, its only a place for me to park me bike.

  4. I have only came across two speed traps in the time that I've had my CBT. The first one wasn't so far up the road from my house which was in a small layby near a farm lane, the other? Well. The other wasn't a speed trap as such...Was out with the misses on the bikes and we were heading up to Llandeilo through Ammonford and since we cba going down through Pontabram we decided to ride through the lanes down into Garnswllt and then into Ammonford. As soon as we got past the white springs in Pontarddulais some guy stops us and warns us of a speed trap up the road, well. We continued on and on, eventually got into Garnswllt and what we found was more than a bloody speed trap!

5-6 cars and a few vans at least!

  5. So I've adjusted the chain yesterday after getting new adjusting screws/bolts because the old ones were a tad worn away, old and eh a bit bent.

So I put the new ones in and adjusted the chain, once I had done so I had went up the road on the bike to test it out and wasn't at all happy with the result. Now the chain itself isn't really tight as I had adjusted it according to what the manual tells me to do and as I had went out on the bike to test it out all I could hear was something rubbing or grinding against something.

So I stick the bike up on center stand when I get back home and put it in neutral and spin the wheel a few times, at first it looked to be spinning freely until I noticed that it was stopping slightly while it was spinning.

I'm thinking its to do with the rear brake? Am I right? Just wanted to know first before I run off and meddle with it.

  6. 60k miles since May?

My bad, i read the thing wrong. The mileage is actually near enough to 8000.

So I took the whole headlamp unit off and done some tests with the wires and those were fine, took a look at the connections and those were fine and then took a look at the bulb, couldn't see anything wrong with the bulb but replaced it anyway. Went out on it last night with no problems so.

    All is fine now :)

  7. Yeah a loose connection was one of my first thoughts before I thought about the bulb and battery.

Will take a look at it now and see where the fault is. Luckily enough my brother has a spare bulb for it somewhere so will look for that now before I look at the thing.

But the bike isn't all that old, it's an 08 plate. Mileage is somewhere between 70000 - 75000 (Not entirely certain on the exact mileage), when I had bought the bike the mileage on it was around say 14000...And that was back in April or May :D

Since then it has been well looked after.

But anyway yeah will take a look at it now :)

  8. So last night I noticed that the headlight on the bike isn't working as good as it used to. Whilst riding from Pontarddulais to Gorseinon I noticed that just after I had passed the bridge that my headlight was either off or had died completely. Turned on main beam and turned it off again which got the headlight working for another 2-3 minutes, while passing the road to Pontarddulais garden center it had gone off once again or had just dimmed.

After turning the main beam on and off again, I eventually found a safe place to stop which is a bit further on up the road.

I stopped, got off and left the bike running and went in front of the light. Then turned the bike off and back on again, and waited about 5 minutes before the headlight went off completely.

Now, for it to be working after turning main beam on and off I wouldn't think its the bulb itself...

But, this is why I'm posting this here now.

So, could it be the bulb or the battery?

EDIT: Or could it be a loose connection somewhere?

  9. Bump sorry for the double post guys.

I've downloaded 2 mock theory tests off the direct.gov website and have been doing some prac on them before I go for the real one. On the mock ones which are now probably outdated/old the pass mark is 43 out of 50 and I've been passing them with scores of 47/45 out of 50 which isn't bad but could probably be a bit better though I was just wondering if whether or not the pass mark in the real exam is the same or higher?

Also, not sure if the hazard perception also applies to the motorbike theory or not so was also wondering if anyone knows of any sites where I could do a free hazard perception test? Or even download one?

  10. Would like it even more if it was the GF :D

I'm sure you could put her bikini across your bike, you might want to get her permission first tho. I hear girls don't like it when their negligee goes missing, they tend to assume the worst...

..tho maybe she might enjoy the idea of you in her bikini? You never know :spank:

    :offtopic:

Maybe I should ask her and see what she says? :D I doubt she would tbh.

Anyways, looking online for some good custom mirrors is turning out to be a no-call so it looks like I'd have to do some DIY.

  11. So I've recently bought some new fairings for the bike. Will not be putting them on until the weekend maybe or until I have the time to though since the delivery of the bikini fairing I have been wondering if anyone knows if I could get some custom mirrors for it?

The bikini fairing is this: (For those who maybe don't know what I am on about)

    http://www.brooksbarn.co.uk/YBR125-BIKI ... ?nh=202245

Was looking at the back of the thing and thought of putting some custom mirrors in behind the indicator panels.

Has anyone done this sort of thing before with their YBR, or no? If not then no worries, I may have to do some DIY :)

  12. Tomorrow I should be down Mumbles with my brother and a mate of mine from college.

If not then I'll either be up Camarthenshire for a solo ride or down Swansea to chill with the metalheads :D

Sunday...Well...I'll be up Ammonford, seeing some family members.

  13. Well the tank was full, no wind, brakes were ok though I did have the top box on which will have produced some drag but no extra weight tbh.

As soon as I got home I checked my tyres and tyres are fine, checked the chain slack again and that's fine, went out after that with and again without the box on and it still occurs even without the box on.
