  1. If you wanted to get it spot on you would need front and rear paddock stands to get it dead level :thumb: If you check it on the centre stand and then on the deck it will be over the full mark, so as the previous posts have said if you do it to the middle you wont be far out  It will also give a different level again if like mine it's jacked up at the rear a little bit so again it depends on how anal yo really want to be :booty: Mine is jacked up by 30mm and although it's not too much does make it show higher than it is so all things to take in to account :thumb: Hope this helps and gives you an idea on how it can be effected :thumb: :thumb: :salute:

  2. Having had a quick look at your beam pattern it looks like the headlight is the wrong way up  Is it fixed into the fairing should it have one or just the round head light unit :bang: Even if it's a round headlight they can normally only go one way as the adjusters are at the bottom of the unit and screws are offset to stop that happening :crybaby: The next step would be get another bike beside yours and see how the beam compares with that :thumb: I'm sorry I can't be more help but it might give you some insight :thumb:

  3. If you can get the battery fully charged then check it first thing in the morning that'll give you a better indication as to whether it's holding a charge, I'm thinking that as this all started after stretching the loom it's not a cert on the battery being shagged. I would take the fuse bank and check the connections as all was well until that point, sometimes it's best to think of the simple solution might be the best and for my two penneth I'd be looking at the back of the fuses to see if there's a crossed wire in that area as that was what got pulled about :thumb:

  4. It sounds like your chain has worn to excess :crybaby: Where it's stretched it's catching on the tips of the front sprocket causing it to chatter, the other give away will be when you drop the throttle it'll start a clicking noise with the chatter  In the workshop manual there's a way of measuring the wear but there are a couple of different ways as I recall :bang: Hope you can sort it but it might be due depending on the mileage and the way it's been used although the Scotoiler does prolong the life but it depends on how many miles it's been without lube

  5. Good day folks, nice to meet you all yesterday and a nice ride even though the last bit was a bit miss judged lol. Sorry I didn't have time to get back to the final point but food rules along with everything that goes with it hehe, it'll be good to see the footage if there's any  I've been non stop from getting in with trying to get a few bits sorted for tomorrow but I've got as much done as I can so the rest will have to wait  Lets hope the weather holds off so we can get a few more in before the snow lol, you never know we might be able to get a few more up for it if you come north of the Thames (you never know) and I'll be able to show you some of the pretty sights of Finchingfield and the like :thumb: many thanks to Phil for leading and poor Joe for moping up the rear but alls well that ends well

  6. And don't forget to always adjust it with the weight of the bike on the rear wheel (side stand or paddock stand), as the others have said the mileage depends on how you ride and maintain it, I get 15-20 k miles out of mine but the argument against the shaft drive will remain as the maintenance is minimal (not that i'd know it's been years since I has a shaft drive bike) :thumb:

  7. As the others have said it's there for safety and not just to make it awkward  I do wonder how we survived years ago before this OTT gizmo's they decide to put in place for the brain dear people we must be ffs :crybaby: Anyway, go to your original question if you look at your clutch lever on the underside you'll see the tiny plug and socket, I'm not sure if that will get rid if you just unplug or whether you'll have to short it out, if it's just a matter of unplug (or in fact if you have to short it) there might be enough to loop back so it's out of the way (behind the headlight) :salute:

  8. They've all hit the nail on the head and take yourself of to a big car park and practise slow manoeuvre's and gain your confidence and transfer that on the road, imo I think with safety in mind try not to over complicate the turn and don't be afraid to stop if someone is behind you, take your time, be aware of what is around you, take a deep breath and try not to get flustered. The old saying that practise make's perfect does apply so try and relax and enjoy your time out on two wheels :thumb:

  9. As I'm skint and couldn't afford the progressive springs which as said will make a big difference but I changed the oil to 15w and that had a great improvement at a very low cost, I've got a k6 which does have adjustment and with a little tweek here and there got it set up and added a rear shock that came up on evil bay  I'm still getting the rear set up but it has inspired confidence into and out of the bends :salute: As much as the springs will make a major boost to the front end what I did certainly helped so if your a bit hard up then this also helps. Well done for the write up though it's great to have this sort of thing put out there :thumb:

  10. Your MPG is as you say rubbish, the important bit is how you ride and then is your mileage correct  If you have a sat nav and can compare the two that'll give you a better idea :salute: Moving on to the next part will be OK if you know a little bit about your bike but how is it running, do you have a flat spot, have you changed the air filter as one of the previous post's, is it still the stock can and is the end really sooty. You might find that the carb's could do with a clean and I generally throw a good dose of Redex in the tank and have found it pretty good stuff and normally does the trick.

Hope you can get the problem sorted and it'll probably end up a good reason.

    All the best
