  1. try this..http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/valves.htm and this http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/ga ... 20Fuel.pdf or this http://www.fixya.com/motorcycles/t90271 ... r100rs_run according to most replies the answer is yes but says to make sure you use Premium unleaded.
  2. Thanks I still think I could be tempted to do a 1970's Honda 400 four Hey Polecat....not commenting on the thread but your avatar and just saying I have two of you in my back yard
  3. Doesnt all this mean that you have to have a contract phone?... Would love some kind of satnag on the bike but they are excessively expensive compared to a car system.
  4. Bypass the ignition circuit...take a wire directly from the battery to the feed on the ecu....if you have a spark then you need to check it is at the right time. Check the earthing....its the biggest cause of all electrical problems...
  5. It's made of silk Moo.....silk always keeps you warm....I have silk inner gloves and a long sleeved t shirt...always warm
  6. Saw that live a few weeksd ago at Sheffield.....bloody fantastic
  7. Have you looked at the long sleeved silk undershirts you can get for a bike? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silk-thermal-lo ... B0064MO8ZQ and I demand piccies....lol of course there are cheaper ones out there... Look up bike base layers moo
  8. good job it was a one way system after some of the language I was using.....lol
  9. Oh moo you do keep I amused .....larf larf
  10. Its not a good photo but I think you are looking at the lock washer.....you need to tap that down with a hammer and a small chisel so that you can get a socket on it...then when you re tighted it you need to bend it up again. It's to stop the nut coming loose..
  11. Wear what you feel most comfortable in.....Your not on a fashion parade....the examiner will be wanting to see your riding ability decisions which include the clothing you wear....he/she wouldnt be impressed if you turned up in jeans and a tee shirt...
  12. I believe it is illegal but that wouldnt stop me....unless it was rotten, as some are round me...
  13. It takes 4 things for an engine to run...Induction, Compression, Ignition, Exhaust.. You say you have compression so that one....you say that fuel is getting to the carb, but is it getting to the cylinder?...you say that you have a spark, but is it appearing at the right time?...finally there is the exhaust, if that is blocked somewhere then it also wont fire...especially if its a 2 stroke which needs back pressure to enable the exchange in the crankcase...
  14. Yes, that's mainly the point but I don't particularly want to put the gearbox in backwards or get the timing wrong etc there's loads of things that can go wrong, I'm going to get all the necessary tools I need before I start it =) Of course there are loads of things that can go wrong...loads of things go wrong everyday, it's part of life....It's how we learn and develop new skills.....like building motorcycles! Take you time over it, dont rush, make sure you understand what you are doing before you actually do it and you will make less mistakes and feel proud when you have finished..
  15. Have you balanced the carbs.....On my last bike this was the problem...
  16. My guess is the 1100....but it could be the 750....nice From the front mudguard I would favour the 750....definately
  17. Yeah I could but I really have no need...the bike is less than 100 yds from where I am sat and I know the lad thats selling it...I watched him grow up..lol... I have no wish to embarrass myslef or the lad so I was just fishing as I am useless at buying....and selling....lol I'm damn good at problem solving and fixing tho...lmao
  18. Hi Steve By the looks of it, it is at least 600cc probably 800cc....been kept outside but under cover.....looks dirty, discs rusty etc but overall in pretty good.....exhaust I'm not bothered about....I'lll make, modify and adapt...I wont be trying to build a replica, concourse machine....I'm a rider so will make do providing it's safe etc .. I was thinking in the region of £300 ish...
  19. Hey guys I've found a P plate Honda shadow...dont know what cc...as what you could describe as a bard find...it hasn't been run for at least a couple of years ...needs a good clean etc... what do you think would be a fair price? I've never been good at prices...hence the question... This could be a nice new project?
  20. I didn't think it was the amount, it just looked like 10/40 was for much faster bikes from what I read in the descriptions You tell him Lou.....
  21. essentially it shouldnt be being run with the head not tightened down properly could do all sorts of damage...
  22. Did you notice the pitting in that first piston head Steve?....Looked like no 2 stroke oil to me? do we know what the correct mixture ratio should be and do we know that it has been mixed properly?
