  1. Sent them an email with a few questions, cheers
  2. Passed the theory now so looking to do it soon. Failing finding someone else, looking for recommendations for other schools around the Chelmsford area.
  3. Thought I'd put the feelers out for someone else to do the spring two person offer with at Camrider, Harlow. The one I was looking at was the four session option for £465. Hopefully I will have passed my theory in a few weeks time so decided to start looking a bit early.
  4. I couldn't move over into the right lane, steady stream of traffic moving much faster than my 125 headlong into wind (which was probably why there was a steady stream actually, overtaking me ) I did begin to slow down when she appeared but it was relatively close when she came out. I was never in any real danger I don't think, I just had to slow right down behind her and then I took forever to get back up to speed again. That's what I'll try and do in future though aye .
  5. The stupid cow in the million year old polo who decided to pull out on me on a dual carriageway
  6. On my CBT/lessons the instructor said at lights, crossings etc when you have been stationary you should check over both shoulders before moving off, if that's what you meant.
  7. It was built up but it was still moving slowly, I've only been riding just over a month so I'm not really confident enough to filter through moving traffic yet haha. To the front of red lights is my 'limit' at the moment.
  8. Yeah I didn't think to do that to be honest, that's what I'll do next time. It was rush hour town traffic though so it's not as if she would have even got very far!
  9. Woman on her phone sat behind me on the way to the gym this morning who was so close she should have probably bought me a coffee and got to know me a little beforehand. I mean so close I could have leaned back and touched her bonnet. It was a good exercise in riding extra carefully I guess .
  10. The old gentleman in the Audi that stopped, looked directly at me, and then decided he wanted to pull out on me anyway.
  11. Aye still a few mm left on it.
  12. That's tomorrows job. Going to try and bleed the brake a bit more as well, I've been out for a ride and it seems a little weak. I can't pull the lever right down to the handlebar though so I'm not sure whether or not I'm just used to stronger brakes on a car or something.
  13. So I hit it with a rubber hammer, loads of air suddenly came out, now it's braking fine. +1 for brute force.
  14. Well I finally managed to get the seal in, I got a thin headed screwdriver and dug loads of crud out of the groove and then it went in fairly easily. Next problem is bleeding it. Did it for a while yesterday but couldn't build up any pressure. Tied the lever back overnight but still nothing this morning. I swear I'm cursed. I might try gingerly riding it with only rear brake to a mechanic that lives near me and see if I've done something wrong.
  15. Well I'v spent the last two hours trying to get the dust seal in, the bugger just won't go in. It seems like it's too big, but it's exactly the same size as the one that came out. I get most of it in but it forms a sort of arc, then as I push it in the arc just moves around the seal. It's driving me crazy. I've soaked it in brake fluid as well.
  16. I'll be doing it along side my laptop with this page open and a youtube video Would you flush the system out with anything first, in case a bit of grime fall in with the piston out or whatever?
  17. Got the bits on order. Weirdly, even though it's a 55 plate, it's got the front brake setup of a 2007 YBR. It has the 5 spoke wheels opposed to the 3 spoke the 55 plate should have. Must have been in a crash at some point and repaired with newer parts, the HPI came back clear though so it must have happened without involving the insurance. Thanks to everyone for the help by the way, seriously appreciate it!
  18. Dire update. I took the front calliper off to clean it and see if that would sort it. I took the pads off, pulled the brake lever to push the piston out a little to see if any grime was stopping it from going back in, and the piston came out and fluid went everywhere. It looks like some kind of rubber seal is tattered and hanging off as well. I didn't do anything wrong did I? Neighbour thinks I should call them and complain but on the advert they stated no warranty etc, so I'm not sure where I stand.
  19. Yeah the front brake is binding quite badly. I lifted the front up on the centre stand and a neighbour tried to turn the wheel and struggled, dragged all the way. To add to the headache, one of the screws to get the cover off to get to the neutral switch has hardly any head left on it, so I'm going to need to get something to get that off...
  20. Well the bloke I bought it off said he'd serviced it, the sprockets and chain are brand new as well, so from that I'm assuming he's done an oil change. I also went out and looked at the brake fluid reservoir, it's full and looks very clean so he must have changed that as well. I'll check the switch tomorrow in the light though, thank you for the info
  21. Seems the neutral light doesn't work either. I can't find anything online telling me how I can get to the bulbs underneath the clock, don't suppose anyone has some experience with it, or can link me in the right direction?
  22. Thanks for the advice guys, I'll have a better look around it tomorrow and take some pictures of the exhaust and see what you think.
  23. Would something like this putty be ok for fixing the exhaust? And these springs should fit ok?
  24. Few little things with a 55 plate YBR125 I've just bought. There's a small crack on the exhaust, it's underneath so I haven't actually looked at it properly yet but you can see/feel the warm air coming out of it. Can that just be welded, is it even a massive problem? The clutch lever is nearly all the way back out when it engages, it just feels loose and the biting point seems tiny. I don't know whether that's just a bike thing or the clutch needs replacing? When I click down into first from neutral it also jumps forward slightly. It was MOTd before I bought it, advisories are front brake fluid low (I can just top that up right?) and rear springs are "corroded but not seriously weakened", so they can just be done at some point in the next few months? Thanks First bike so I'll probably have more questions at some point...
  25. I'll have a look in the morning and see if there's a bent piece of metal haha. Thanks guys.
