  1. That made me look up who actually supports what, found a handy list on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endorsements_in_the_United_Kingdom_European_Union_membership_referendum,_2016
  2. The thing that really bugs me about both sides is they keep on making doomsday statements without ever actually explaining why it will mean I spend the rest of my days crying in a ball in the corner while the rest of Europe prospers/falls apart.
  3. Couldn't really commute with a car even if I wanted to, have to filter through about 20 miles of standstill traffic as it is. Think I'd kill myself if I had to sit in it . Would be nice to have a car again though, just for the practicality of a boot and heating haha.
  4. Do it! It's one of the best things I've ever done. Can be expensive at first but just hire the bits you need and slowly build up your kit if you decide it's something you want to keep doing. I really don't like doing it in the UK though. Cold water, can't really see much...it gets boring. Though being able to get to places where the water isn't always like that is also an expensive business .
  5. I decided to try out the fully synth and see how it goes. Worst case I'll just change it again I guess. Thanks for the help guys .
  6. The manual just says 10w40, neither that nor the haynes manual I have specify fully/semi. Not sure if that means I'm fine to use either?
  7. Time for my first oil change. Turns out it's not as simple as I'd thought it would be . I've seen a lot of arguments between the use of semi/fully synthetic engine oil. Fully: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motul-7100-Motorcycle-Oil-10w40-2-Litres-Fully-Synthetic-/251728359982?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a9c2df22e Part: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Castrol-Power-1-4T-10W40-Part-Synthetic-Motorcycle-Engine-Oil-2x1L-2L-/151264293932?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item23380df42c For the sake of £4.61 I'd rather get the better stuff...unless it's all just a marketing ploy? Thoughts?
  8. Out of interest do you all use your own bikes or does anybody hire a bike?
  9. I looked on ebay and couldn't find anything . Cheers .
  10. So it looks as if someone has tried to get my top box off my removing the screws attaching it to the bike. http://media.givi.it/XN-Prodotti/istruzioni/449FZ.pdf From the top picture I need 3 of the number 6 screws. Any idea where I can get some/what else would be compatible and easy to get hold of?
  11. Whichever scrote lowlife piece of shit has tried to remove my top box by trying to get the screws out and now it's loose on the bike and I need to buy more .
  12. This made me cringe =D I felt like stopping at letting a bus hit me tbh , probably would have felt better.
  13. Me today -_-. Filtering through Chelmsford in very slow moving traffic and I get to a roundabout. See a gap, jump into it. Only then do I see the part time traffic lights are turned on and are on red .
  14. Nah the speedo isn't driven off the front wheel, I was wondering if the sprocket would affect my speedo actually. It's digital if that makes a difference? Thanks for the offer bud but I'm not really too confident in messing with things like the chain for the first time without someone at least watching what I'm doing to make sure I don't cock up somewhere .
  15. I don't have one, I was thinking of buying the stuff and then doing it myself but the local garage said they would do it for £50. So I decided since I'm not very experienced and it could be quite dangerous if I do it wrong I'll leave it to them . I'll definitely be checking the chain tension before I leave this time though...
  16. I've decided to just bite the bullet and ordered a new DID x ring chain/sprockets kit. Ordered a -1 tooth front sprocket as well . Turned out to be marginally cheaper to buy the kit and then the front sprocket instead of all the parts separately .
  17. So a friend of mine who has looked at it says it's because when I had my tyres changed last week the bloke seriously over tightened the chain . He slackened it all off for me and says I should be ok on it now though, I thought it would be at risk of breaking where parts of the O ring on one link have completely broken off?
  18. Aye I only noticed it because my automatic oiler was a bit broke and I was fixing it all up. Might be able to remove the link though, are they easy to reconnect?
  19. Does that bit of rubber sticking out mean it's new chain and sprockets time?
  20. No but you gave me an idea and managed to fix it. The rear brake switch needed to be screwed in a bit more to give the attached spring some slack and release the piston(?) inside the switch. Either way, it's fixed and I'm not panicking any more . Cheers
  21. Sods law, need to be up and out by 7am tomorrow to do a 230 mile trip and I've just found my rear brake light is stuck on. Any typical problems I can try and fix myself tonight so I can get off on time tomorrow?
  22. Thought I'd stick it in here as it is area specific. I'm looking for a new lid but all local places to me are terrible, most seem to only stock AGV/HJC and none of those fit my head. So can anyone recommend a place? I'm located around Chelmsford so the closer to there the better.
  23. Cheers guys! I ordered some stuff off the linked website, was quite a saving to be honest. Should be arriving today .
  24. I'm wanting a set of panniers and top box for my ER6 for traveling, but I've no idea what to buy in terms of how to mount/fit them. I've looked online and there seems to be countless different types/brands and I don't know if there is a 'one size fits all' kind of mounting system or if you by a Givi rack you have to buy Givi panniers etc. Could anyone advise me on what to buy?
  25. Me today. Approaching a roundabout on first glance I thought was empty so didn't shave off much speed as I was turning left and it was fairly big so would have been no problem. Look again and there is a white A3 coming around that I would have hit carrying on the speed I was. Not terribly fast but still. Tried my first emergency stop Not really sure what happened, the back wheel swung right out though and the front started to skid and I felt myself tipping the wrong way. Suddenly (and quite handily really) remembered what my cbt instructor said about getting into a skid and let go/reapplied the brakes and it got upright again and stopped. Was a few scary moments haha. Lesson learned: Look properly and slow down for turns anyway you f**king numpty
