  1. I will book a track day too. Evening session. They are easily the best way to learn a bike, or how to ride properly. Done a few. Superb learning experience. Pit Bikes (the small things..) is also great. Enjoyed that.
  2. Yesterday, I paid for this course. I will update progress on this thread as it might help others. It is to get my confidence back on the seat after a few years out. I think it will be good for me. https://www.iamroadsmart.com/courses/advanced-rider
  3. Really grim. It is very rare for a rider to die on a circuit so to have two passing is horrendous. Of course, we all know the obvious dangers of the TT but was surprised this happened though Oulton is a tad mad.
  4. They should be mandatory like seatbelts on a car. Insuit and outer, both are better than nothing. Case in point, I had a highside at Donnington in the damp and so did my mate. He broke his collar bone and I was fine thanks to the deployment of my Helite jacket. Certainly, only get one that puffs up around the neck too. Ah, here is the video! I also talk more about the tech itself.
  5. The high level of attention and service at SBS has always been excellent. I seems like a no brainer to ensure a customer keeps coming back but sadly many companies, or their staff, simply have no idea.
  6. Rejoined, bought a bike, comes in 2 days time, unpacked and took my old bike clothing to the dry cleaners and booked up an advanced course. Track session next and I will hopefully be good to go. It has been a few years and I am both excited and apprehensive. That recent crash at Oulton was the worse possible timing and, of course, thoughts for all those involved. Horrific.
  7. No no claims here... Was quoted £3400 on a SF V4S. Ended up paying £1.4k for a decent bike. Yep., I need to build mu No Claims up plus I had an accident 3 years ago. I was always going to find insurance tough.
  8. I'd only really heard that there is a real problem with bikers riding away without paying, likely mostly thieves (there is a LOT of them) or delivery riders (even more of them). Certainly, the staff get angsty when a biker comes in as their bosses put the fear of god into them.
