    Loose chain

Two adjustable spanners, one on either side of the axle, stand behind the back wheel and while holding the right side steady, pull up on the left side. Don't tickle it, maybe a spray of WD40 before you begin will help.

    how long

The brake pads or the whole caliper?
  5. Here are some opinions.... someone who rides there bike everyday rain or shine? Does not own a car someone who has ridden for 10+ years Will hopefully survive to ride 20+ years someone who rides a hog Needs to try a real bike someone who has a sports bike for summer use and weekends Has a way to relieve stress someone who knows all the mechanical sh*t about bikes Is VERY good to have as a neighbour someone with more than 1 bike Has more money than me none of the above Yep, thats about it, being a biker is an emotional attachment to all things bike-ish. Someone whos bike is knackered and starts crying like a baby when its great weather and his mates ring him up asking if he fancies a ride out, I think being a 'biker' is 100 different things to 100 different people. But good question tho

  13. I'VE ONLY GONE AND FIXED THE FECKER!!!!!! Took the tank off, checked the plugs, according to the multimeter they had power. Started ripping off the black tape from the wiring that was attached to the pld alarm plugs, 2 yellow wires ( BANANA) led me to the IC Ignitor, there the wire from the pick up coil as shown in the wiring diagram had been cut and and these yellow wires were spliced in. Now I'm not stupid, really, I'm not........I thought Hang on, pick up coil, engine isnt really picking up just running on two cylinders and those wires look very suspicious indeed. Cut em out of the loopl, stuck the two ends of the black wire together AND...............................IT WORKS!!!!!!! I AM A GENIUS!!!!!!!! The wifes so happy, I might even crack a smile this week, you should have seen me jumping round the garden, right sight Thanks everyone for your help and well meant tips, I love you all, especially one guy that must remain nameless to protect the innocent, I just like to call him Harry the escape artist WOOOOHOOOOO

  16. Have you ever typed Red Alert Manual in google? It some kind of pc game
  17. I fitted the resistors parallel to the new positives and the old earths and the indicators do it, also the idiot lamp works, didnt touch the front indies, they must be driven by the back, also when i turn on my headlight/backlight the just keep flashing like theyre meant to. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! Cheers everyone that helped, I wish I had time to name you all but I'd like to thank Nigelf, Stu_m, Stuart and not forgetting Houdini, mostly emotional support, without him I wouldnt be the man I am today OK THINKING CAPS ON NEW PROBLEM God help me There was an old Red Alert alarm system on the bike when I bought it, bloody murder it was, I ripped it out partially one night at 3 in the morning. Yesterday I thought sod it, I'll rip the rest of it out, now my bike seems to want to be a Ducati, sounds like only two cylinders are firing, and it wont idle. Bought one of those multimeters today, looked at the instructions...... BANANANANANANANANANA Normal people shouldnt be allowed to buy them things, I'm for gun control and multimeter control too I think Ive just got to follow the wires from the plugs to the starter and see if the bast*rd that fitted the alarm put a start breaker in there somewhere or does anyone have a better plan. I'm begging here, for the sake of my family get my bike going again

That is not good at all. Ring round a few see what the prices are they quote you, some may have free fitting but the tyre costs 20 quid more
  19. I did read on a dutch forum that the LEDs mess up your electrical system because of the idiot light in the dashboard still needing more power banana banana. And when I do use my indicators all 4 flash together but the idiot lamp does not.
  20. nope, Ramsgate
  21. Thanks for trying Stu, but it was banana banana banana in pictures I tell you what, if its still buggered come june, I'll see you at Donington
  22. he does have a point tho
  23. You simply have no clue how UNtechnical I am, I read the instructions I posted earlier and it might as well have said "banana banana banana on the banana banana banana banana banana to the banana banana unless you're banana banana banana"
  24. errrrrrrr no!!! try getting a decent bit of wire and shove it into the back of the connector where the earth goes in on the light side then stick it on the frame or something see if the lights work like that the earth from the light will be good it will be where it connects to the wiring loom or somewhere further down the line thats bad ps thats if its a bad earth i would pop round and give ya a hand but its a bit of a ride Well get effin moving then!
  25. ERRRRRRRRR any idea HOW to add another earth?
