  1. You said racers do i said they dont point over.

Just admit your wrong as the hole is getting deeper

3 time wsbk champ needs to go to the "Techno Superbike School"

The video being a mere example of smooth clutchless downshifts. Not from TOTW

Youll have to watch Twist of the wrist i think.

And if done correctly does not knack anything.

  2. I am assuming that why you always see racers using a clutch to down shift slipper clutches or not!

    what like Troy Bayliss :?:

Keith Codes Twist of the wrist 2 at 84 in minutes explains clutchless downshifts.quote"Suprisingly easy when you get the timing right with or without a slipper clutch"

    ">
  3. I dont mind going down the gears either just not 2nd to 1st although i can do it i wouldnt say it was seemless. When you have just the right amount of throttle so the bike isnt pulling or slowing you can select up or down gear without the bike surging or slowing just the revs change up or down depending on selection.

I feel its more benefit going up through the gears as you can pin it and just roll off for a split second and pin again

  4. Why dont you offer the bike shop a bit extra so they actually make some cash?Ask them how much to make it worth their while

Dont understand how they dont make any money.Surely they charge you for the parts and then for the labour. If your not willing to pay the labour charge they ask then do it yourself.

  5. Just reading this months Ride mag. They were testing 2 piece suits.Impact resistance, stitching and abrasion.I was shocked to see such a bad performance from Dianese. The abrasive test where the leather is mechanically held against a belt sander made mince meat of the Dianese suit. The RST suit withstood alot more as did Hein Gerikes own brand. The best on test was Hideout, but at 800 notes it wants to be.

  6. Mine will read 13-14 at idle and 12.3 standing(no ignition).

If your only concerned is when your ignition is on(not started) but it holds a charge and charges,is it not just the fuel pump priming or ecu or lights taking up a bit of power?

  7. cant choose as all the makes are good.

I have an Arlen Ness 1 piece(that pictured looks like a 2 piece) and its great but so are the others.Whatever your budget as long as they fit correctly.Tailored BKS wouldnt be cheap but they are very nice.

    Crowtree,Teknic,berik are all good too.

RST is an option if you want to go a bit cheaper. Its the only cheap brand i would consider.

  8. I usually service mine once a year or 3000 mile which ever comes first.(think its 4k in the manual)

Basic oil/filter change i will do myself. If its a major service checking shims/valve clearences and other technical stuff ill take it to a garage.

It will tell you in your service manual the intervals and type of service.Probably 4k between, which will mean a minor service at 12k oil/filters/break fluid and a major service at 16k.

  9. Its more of a spur of the moment thing for me.If its a nice day and work is slow ill nip out for a bimble.Crack on with ya DAS mate im sure youll be tagging along. We dont do a full route in one go we always have stop offs to let the others catch up and get some blood back in the fingers.

  10. Looks great - who owns the cabin you stayed in? Is it private or up for general rental?

Drumnadrochit Lodges google them, run by Allen and Agnes Spence they have about 6 lodges up on the hill side over looking Loch Ness all 4 star s/c.We paid £100 each for 3 nights.Didnt fancy lugging around camping gear.Somewhere to come back for a shower and chill was worth the money especially after the 12hr second day ride.

  11. New helmet!Do you know how much an Arai costs?

It has been caused by velcro rubbing, collar not closed properly.Every time you put it on or turn your head youll be catching it.It will be strong enough but id still take it back even if it costs you to get another strap fitted.

I'm always aware when wearing my textiles so normaly wear a neck tube to keep them apart.Leathers arent a problem cause of the low cut neck.

If you keep putting gloves in your lid youll end up snagging the cheek pads in the same way.

  12. Day 1.

Set off from Newcastle at 6.30am,bit chilly but the sun was playing out,to get to Drumnadrochit which was to be our base camp for the weekend 314 mile from home.

Onward and upward from Invergarry to Drumnadrochit about 30 mile of total biker heaven.Grippy good quality surfaces with some real epic corners twisting left right all the way up past Urquart castle Loch Ness.

Deliberating over some fish'n'chips we decided being there we may aswell go across to Durness and down through Ullapool. This now turned a 230 mile day into a 340 mile day. There wasnt much happening along the north coast until we got to Durness and the place went from good to absolutely effin awsome.Met a guy traveling around on his own(nutter)who mentioned there is only 1 24hr garage in the Highlands in Scourie.

    http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j177/J4FF/Jockland%2023%20july%202010/IMGP0637.jpg

    http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j177/J4FF/Jockland%2023%20july%202010/IMGP0640.jpg

This road is definitley the best road i have ever been on it had everything from smooth grippy tarmac to any amount of bends carving through the mountains lack of pics as it was just too nice to stop all the time.As we came through Scourie to fill up we had done 110 mile from the previous stop.My mate infront kept riding through and didnt notice the 1 pump on the side of the road.I tried to flash him but he kept going.I stopped the other guy behind stopped i told him the score that it was the last fill up point for another 40 mile which we wouldnt make.He went back to the garage while i headed up to tell my mate expecting him to be stopped round the next corner.4 mile up the road he was stopped in a layby. We went back filled up drama over.

Last garage in the Highlands(take your card!)

Now coming to the third time up the A82 from Invergarry we picked up the pace the guy horsing his Maserati trying to keep up soon gave up as did Jag man lol.Grabbed some pizzas from the shops to take up to the cabin to get settled for the MotoGP.A bat hit the window as we stood outside. So much for sonar. Was dazed for 5 minutes before it flew off

Total of 1300 mile (ive wrecked my front tyre)Excellent company excellent roads a total amazing time.Roll on Ullapool next year.

  13. just got back from the Highlands. The A82 from Tyndrum to Drumnadrochit is mind blowing, surface quality is great. The views through Glen coe are stunning and the constant left, right, left, rights all the way up the side of Loch Ness is biker heaven. At the time this was the best road id been on.

Right up the north west the road from Durness to Ullapool has got to be the best road i have ever ridden.Scenic is one word for it,jaw dropping is another from roads carved through mountains dropping into mythical valleys with castle ruins built on the lochs. Not a straight road in sight.Oh and only one self service 24hr filling station in Scourie on route so take a bank card.
