  1. Bike jeans yeah they're designed to be like textiles though and tear resistant with armour etc, but everyday jeans you buy at matalan or burton? They aren't really going to stand up to the abrasion tarmac causes at 60mph, the same with cargo trousers.
  2. Having a discussion with a friend of mine about jeans, he claims jeans are better protection than work trousers (just a cloth type) i say they're both useless for protection as you wont get more than a seconds worth of protection if you come off at 60. The only thing that will protect you is durable textiles / leather and armour. Peoples thoughts?
  3. So many awesome sentences there! My general nobs are the ones who tailgate me when i'm overtaking a lorry thats going 60 and im going about 68, fine im not super fast but if i have to over take i over take tailgating me at 6am in the dark isnt going to make me speed up if anything i'll slow down! Just need people to be considerate that biking can be a bit scary especially when you're new!
  4. So far its handling ok! Few little smudge marks but i cant see them with my helmet on and neither can the people i whizz past Tiny scratch and i mean the size of a crumb so again not a problem, still looks amazing and i'm glad i purchased it
  5. Update, not sure how to edit if i can.. Bike is going well, had a little trouble when i didnt let it warm up enough and stalled on a roundabout. Aswell as a couple of times it has been trying to suck fuel in when i opened it up and it didnt *chug chug chug* . Top speed i have hit so far is 72mph wind against my on the A12, if i can get a windless day i will get some speed up! As for town riding it is easy as to manouver and nippy and quick off the line, Also i get plenty of looks i think people are like "Oh my god he is soooooo cool" at least in my head that's how it goes
  6. they're mostly leather, with hard plastic on various places, may just walk around in them for a few weeks and break them in
  7. Hello, i bought myself some big boots on my friends recomendation, but i find i can't lift my foot up properly to change gears, i have moved the lever so ican get the boot in between the footrest/ gear lever, but when i change up i often find i don't push it up enough. Has anyone else had problems like this with rigid boots? and do i just need to wear them in or can i do something to make them more flexible?
  8. All brand new gear only been worn a few times, May just have to take a spare shirt to work Wearing my proper boots now so they keep my feet much dryer!
  9. This is being done if it rains on my way home!! And neverwet? i think i have heard of that before anybody have any experience with it? does it work on textiles without staining or damaging them? also how long before you need to re-apply
  10. Mmmmmm i drooled a little. Thats a reasonable price! Was looking on triumph's site can get a new thruxton for around 7k, will see in a couple years what i can scrape together
  11. Definately gonna go for a test ride once i have my license
  12. Almost identical (except the thruxton is awesome ) Might give it a few years though, maybe ease up to a 600 bandit first.
  13. Might look into that.. i do have a pak-a-mac that i use when on my bicycle.. but probably wont fit over my bike gear! May have to check out if i can find a bigger one as that wont take up to much space then, trousers stay fairly dry , its mostly the boots i had dripping wet socks today!
  14. Hope not it's only been worn 4 times!
  15. Morning. Just rode on to work (20-30 min ride down highway) wearing full textiles and took all off and mostly i'm dry (except my boots but thats being sorted) my stomach is soaking though? It's just as covered as the rest of me, but now it looks like i have a half dyed shirt. any ideas on whats causing this / how to stop it? Ideally i don't want another layer of waterproofs but if i have to i will.
  16. Cheers ^^ i like the look of it definately better than some 125's i've seen about, (not a fan of that sports bike look). and i'd love to go down brighton my favourite breakfast cafe is down there haha!

    Full beams

I'm not quite sure what's wrong, but i only purchased this bike a few days ago, but the few times i'v eneeded to use the full beams i flick them on and it barely makes a difference, it seems to point to high up but if i lower the light my dipped beams will be 2 inches infront of the wheel? Any suggestions? Will try pull over somewhere and take a pic if i can
  20. This is a work in progress i will add to this as i discover new things and have things to say! I will be reviewing my Sinnis cafe 125cc petrol motorbike. I purchased this saturday the 2nd for £1900 brand new, custom handlebars to give it that amazing cafe racer look, unfortunately i had to ruin it with L plates () But none the less it looks amazing. It runs quiet enough i don't annoy my neighbours at 5am, but it has a nice throaty engine/exhaust that it sounds wicked when i open it up! I will add on an after market exhaust at some point just because i want to! . Lovely colours, a shiny black with gold stickers lacquered on (will add another over hte fuel tank ). It rides smoothly even with my poor gear changes, fantastic acceleration, Top speed is pretty low, i usually sit at 60 but have got up to 70 and 80 when the wind is low enough. Built with a suzuki engine so it's not likely to crap out on me any moment soon. Digital gear indicator is quite handy for a noobie like myself. Good points - Fuel economic done about 140 miles on just over 1/2 a tank - Looks amaze-balls - Sounds pretty good for a 125 - Cheap price - Digital gear indicator - Suzuki engine Bad points - Not very fast at top speed I would likely buy another sinnis, but i may change my mind. who knows i have only had it for 2 days! Added a picture from where i bought it, including curved down handlebars will try upload some pictures of mine now that it's got horrible L plates and is dirty!
  21. Decided to go with a bulky chain aswell as a shackle/padlock thingy Decided it would be more secure considering i can almost pick my bike up alone
  22. I know i'm late to this topic! but i think high vis is definately worth wearing, not saying head to toe, but a jacket with built in high vis in the darker months especially or even a throw over jacket just helps you be seen that bit easier, i have a jacket with it in so i don't get a choice but all black on a black bike with a light the size of my hand? i dont want to take that risk
  23. Hello, Can anyone recomend a relatively decent / well priced disc lock? I'm paranoid someones gonna have off with my bike thinking this? http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... 65752#tab1
  24. As you know i just purchased one myself, Looks sooooooo good, will keep you informed of it's life, when it starts to get a bit grubby etc
