  1. Definately on my list of stuff i need to get , Poor at moment though maybe an xmas pressie?
  2. I've never seen a car wearing a t-shirt and tracksuit trousers and you saw 'another' one! Blimey, must be thick as thieves up were you are! Just re-read that fantastic :D my grammar seem's to have failed me, not gonna change it quite funny actually
  3. Put a review up, just added all my stuff into one review save writing loads of different ones gonna keep updating as i use the items
  4. Hello, instead of doing about 10 seperate reviews, i thought i would make one big one with all my new motorcycle clothing. ((This review is on-going as i have yet to road test most of it!)) Will edit in photos when i get home In the review i will go over the type of clothing ( Boots jacket trousers gloves helmet etc), Prices, Warmth, Durability, Water / wind resistance and anything else i can think of, i will also be adding in photo's of the items and hopefully it will come together nicely . And with that let's get started (also i apologise for some bad photography on my part!) Let's start with my helmet, I recently purchased a Caberg V2RR helmet to replace my old box helmet i got for £25.. So far this helmet seems great, comfortable removeable lining, sturdy exterior in a gorgeous matt black that would make anybody envious! It is pin lock ready with the visor already drilled a scratch resistant visor. Well ventilated with One vent on the chin, 2 on the top of your head, and one at the back of your head to stop it misting up, And my favourite feature being the sun visor that drops down, a very handy feature and one i personally went looking for! Aswell as being given a 5 star safety rating one of the best helmets you can buy for it's perfectly reasonable price. Purchased for £139.99 Next up Jackets! I have 2 jackets, summer and winter, I first purchased my summer jacket from parkinsons colchester (used to have an outlet store there) for the reasonable sum of £100, brand new leather jacket frank thomas black, with beige stripes comfortable as any jacket, not to warm not to cold just right! (like porridge) armour plated (removeable) and looks amazing. My second jacket the winter one i brought recently from ipswich honda, an RST jacket it is thick, thermal lined, armour plated(removeable) not as stylish as the frank thomas one, but looks good considering it is covered in high vis stripes, warm and cosy i think it will hold up well in the winter weather. Frank thomas £100 RST £69.99 Trousers are the next item! I picked up a pair of viper trousers from Manley's in clacton (where i am purchasing my bike) They took another £30 off them when they were down from £170 to £80 now to £50 i think i got a bargain! My oh my are they warm and comfy, i had to go for 2XL ( ) but i wanted to be able to wear my work trousers underneath, The thermal lining is removeable so good summer trousers also, armour plates in the hips and pads in the knee's air vents all over covered by zips for winter use. all in all a great set for a great price! Viper trousers £50 Gloves, i have two pairs of gloves i imagine many people have hundreds!! i didn't want to go to mad on these seeing you can get some for £300 (i only spent £139 on the helmet come on!) i purchased one pair with my frank thomas jacket for £15 they are also frank thomas, black beige stripes and look sexy (this all matches the bike i may add ) very pleased with them, my only problem no knuckle guards which i personally would rather have but oh well!! Next up is my RST gloves purchased with my RST jacket at honda in ipswich, £29.99 thick and fluffy, strong knuckle guard, two straps to make sure they stay on aswell as an attachment to hook onto some jackets. Reasonable purchase will see how they hold up, if they really suck i may invest in a better pair as i hear cold hands is dangerous! Frank thomas £15 RST £29.99 Lastly we have boots, i have been making do on my friends bike with a pair of magnums i got back in 2008, comfy and manouverable but little to no protection wind resistance and water resistance, they won't do except for the warmer months. So while up at orwells suzuki in ipswich, my friend roped me into buying a pair of (not 100% sure on this) shot? boots, they are HUGE! i'm 6ft and they come up to me knee, solid material very little give in them but that's good! Enough to change gears on my bike, big clips on the size and a waterproof lining. Black with white outlines they look awesome aswell end of line item so got them for a steal at £100! Shot(?) boots £100 Will add more and pictures as and when i can / need to the more i test the more i will write.

Wonderful Will give this a try maybe sunday, do i just keep going over it with hairdryer untill it starts to loosen then gently pull off?
  6. Will pop it on (along with rest of my gear) and add some up Looking at reviewing it all eventually!
  7. I have only bought this the other day, but so far i can tell it is a good helmet. I will add more to this review as i use it more. Pro's 5 star rating Cheap price got mine for £139.99 Pinlock already drilled Plenty of ventilation (3 in front 1 in back) Drop down sun visor always helpful! Looks SEXY in matt black Warm and cosy Con's None so far
  8. Oh boy do i have some nobs on my daily commute (obligatory giggity) Couple weeks back driving down the A12 (witham to colchester) was in outside doing around 75 overtaking a car, nothing behind me for a while, look again 5-10seconds later, and i see a bike rocketing towards me!, some knuckledraging oxygen thief ragging his poor (What ever it was?) sports bike at about 120+ as he shoots between me and another car wearing a t-shirt and tracksuit trousers. This is the epitome of a crap rider! My biggest moan, happens on a daily basis driving on the A12 is people not being able to accelerate on slip roads, If anyone lives near witham or has ever used that junction they will know how bad it is, you have a length of about 200 yards to accelerate and get onto the A12, not to bad i have a 1.2 i can do it easily. but you will find there is people driving around 30mph then unable to get on, or force a lorry into the next lane, especially as you need to be going fast as you only have about 50 yards before the slip road runs out of being able to see what is coming!! People dithering infuriates me. Also the silverend/rivenhall turn off/on as you drive towards witham from colchester, you have around 20 yards of slip road on one of the busiest points on the whole road!! who designs these roads!!

Hi, I have some stickers on my new bike i want to remove as i dislike them, my friend recomended a hairdryer and peeling off then wipe a bit of white spirit over to remove residue, any other recomendations or tips? It's on a black tank so nothing that will stain it
  10. Ran up to ipswich after work (from witham) and got there last one they had in stock of size XL (for my large cranium!) put it on and perfect fit, comfortable and warm looks amazing, and the drop down sun visor sweetened the deal matt black full face helmet £139.99 i'm quite pleased with it
  11. Cheers wise man dimmers!

    Cbr 125 breaks

Might be worth checking "Pitstop" probably a topic in there of someone with a similar problem.
  13. Has anyone ever had a caberg helmet? if so any problems or good things to say? Found a nice one on their website, going to my (fairly) local dealer to try a couple on. http://www.cabergcares.co.uk/productdet ... RMattBlack Looks quite nice, has a 5 star safety rating, I love the drop down sun visor (Key feature for buying a helmet in my opinion) Opinions please
  14. Finally got my last piece of gear (trousers!) £50 down from £175 (was reduced to £100 but i argued down as i was buying a bike there!) Adds about 2 minutes on but i think thats because i'm still awkward getting them over my boots!! So a rough estimate of 5 minutes to get clothed up and then quick warm up of bike while i open gates and lock up and i'm good to go
  15. Rear camera sounds helpful, still do your lifesavers etc but seeing a lorry on his phone racing towards you, might just be enough to dodge him!
  16. Depends how hard you knocked it really? If it was quite hard i would probably throw it away as you don't know what may have happened inside. if it was a slight bump and theres no visible damage (except the visor scratch) it might be ok. Worth taking the lining out see if there is any damage. But if you are in doubt, Get a new one, better be £100 out of pocket than dead
  17. Looks quite neat Depends on it's price tag on release.
  18. My god 15 minutes!! I would have to get up at 5am to have that time
  19. How long does it take you in the morning? And by getting ready i mean your bike gear, not your morning shower ^^ Takes me (timed myself!) 2:33 minutes to get boots on, jacket on and tightened, mask tied up and helmet over then gloves pulled on and tightened (still got to get trousers so i would say 3minutes) and i'm ready to rock. No actual benefit to this, i'm just curious
  20. May pop maplins this evening and see if they sell them. I think i've heard them mentioned a couple times before.
  21. Do you mean to do CBT? or do lessons / classes for test? If CBT i know a good place if you are willing to travel down essex Excel motoring school in colchester are fantastic.
  22. Have a look at these....http://www.maplin.co.uk/productsearch?criteria=Two%20Way%20Radios Yeah... I was after peoples personal opinion not just a link to a website, i think i can use google to find a store. This Cobra MT any good al_stu? I can always push the budget up a bit if it's worth it.
  23. Hello, Can anyone recomend a good Bike to Bike radio for around £30-£40? Range doesn't need to be far, ideally voice activated but won't get activated by wind (if possible). Have read up a little bit, but not 100% sure what to go for so peoples personal opinions would be great!
  24. When i did my CBT the other week we went through all lane positioning and speeds and target fixation for corners, He wouldn't let me out on the bike on the road untill i could do a U-turn to examiner standards Probably a good thing as when i was on the road i was well prepared. I recomend slowing down to a reasonable speed (Reasonable to YOU) and ignore cars behind you if they beep at you for being slow, you need to be safe, comfortable and happy when riding.
  25. Found a nice pair at one of my "sort of local" shops where i picked up my jacket, they were £30 nice and thick warm RST gloves with knuckle protectors, quite pleased with the find!
