  1. Thanks guys! Yeah now that the weather's picking up I'm going to start riding for fun again... I was thinking about going to one of those biker meets, but I don't really know any lol, and I'm kind of reluctant to go in case everyone wants to go on motorways and stuff, I'm actually not worried about the speed because I did 60mph on my lessons, but I don't think my bike will do very well at that level... maybe I'm just not putting enough trust in it, but when I get it to 50 it starts screaming like the gear box is about to fall off and it makes me kind of nervous O.o
  2. sorry for the late news guys!! i passed mod 2 yesterday And then the examiner went mad at me for getting my minors... i came out of the room and said to my instructor i don't feel like i've passed lol, but oh well... if he really had a problem with me he wouldn't have passed me, right? anyway! so yeah got the L plates off now and changed my insurance (no change to the premium but then i did get pillion insurance so i think they cancelled each other out), am not thinking about whether or not it's worth upgrading my engine, right now all i do is potter about to work and back, but now that i can go on motorways i might start touring more... but then again i might not O.o will have to decide in october when my finance is finished, i'm trying not to decide on anything now lol
  3. *looking at pictures* Actually it looks pretty nice Do they still make these though? I was thinking of getting another new bike on finance, mine's paid off in October and I'm debating whether to part exchange it or sell privately... Everyone keeps telling me I'll get more money if I sell it myself but part exchanging is so much less hassle, especially if I'm buying a new one... Maybe nearer the time I should just ride up to a Yamaha dealer and see what they've got. The website has a new Fazer 800... Is there much difference in handling between a 600 and an 800 bike? *total newbie with big bikes*
  4. Thanks guys!! I spoke to my training school today, they've got a test available on 4th March so assuming I can get the time off work that's when I'll do my mod 2. To be honest I'm not really worried about that one, I've been riding on the road almost every day for the past 2 years and I rode to the test centre on all of my mod 1s with no problems, so... hopefully will pass this one first time! The only thing I need to look out for is not going through red lights... I did that a couple of times when I was following my instructor ^_^' Technically I went though on amber just before it turned red, but in fairness I did have time to stop. So... need to watch out for that...
  5. Cool, I actually love the way it looks... but it's getting a little too small for me now And compared to the 600 I'm learning on it is a little fumbly,I keep wanting to get a 600 but I only potter to work and back so can't really justify a bigger bike... Does anybody know of a bike that rides exactly like a Honda CBF 600 but looks like a Yamaha YBR 125? Because the bike big I'm learning on is a much better ride than this but it does't look as good, and I'm quite a shallow person
  6. I PASSED!! OMG I couldn't believe it! Sorry I didn't post this sooner, pretty much been working over the past 24 hours lol So yeah I did the slalom without putting my foot down, pulled up next to the examiner and I was all like ':D I did it! I did it!!' and he just laughed at me because I've had the same guy for all four tests and he knows I kept failing on that... Anyway I did everything else fine, the only minor I got was on the avoidance, I failed it at first because I only went at 46kph, then he gave me another go and I went at 48kph and he gave me a minor for it OMG so relieved!! I really wasn't sure if I went fast enough on the second avoidance because I looked at my speed at I was doing just above 30mph so I thought I might have failed, and I knew that if I had passed I'd only passed with 48kph... but whatever! I passed! YAY!! Thanks for all the encouragement guys!! Just waiting for a mod 2 date now
  7. O.o The tyres? Do they put bad tyres on the 125s??
  8. thanks so much for the advice guys! i never thought of looking at the gaps between the cones... that's a really good idea actually! i always try to look at the end of the slalom but occasionally end up just staring at the next cone because i think i'm going to ride into it... then the foot goes down lol and yeah i never lean on the slalom, so gonna try that ^_^ got my 4th test tomorrow... definitely gonna pass it!!!
  9. literally just putting a picture of my bike here to show people... i'm genuinely considering marrying her unless i can find something that looks exactly like this but has the engine of a honda cbf 600... does anybody have a friend?
  10. Ah that is so reassuring! I'm glad somebody else has done this too! What were you failing on? Anyway guys yeah I think I am overthinking it ... the foot is going down in around the same place I think, so maybe I'm losing concentration because I know I'm near the end ... I like your idea though Zipster, on my next lesson I'm gonna move the cones about and maybe change my starting position ... if I fail number 4 I'm going to scream!
  11. Thanks for the advice guys I don't know what it is that's stopping me, when I'm in my lessons I blitz through the whole thing like I've been doing it for years, but I keep failing my test! On my second test I tried to take a moment to breath and relax but I kept thinking about the examiner waiting for me... Then on number three I wasn't nervous at all and genuinely thought I'd sail through it, but then the foot went down... I don't know what it is O.o After the 3rd go I thought maybe I'm getting thrown off by the fact that my starting position in the test isn't 100% identical to my lessons (the cones are further to the right in the test), but... I don't know how that makes a difference because I always end up putting my foot down when I'm more than halfway through the cones. My instructor said maybe I'm failing because I'm over-analyzing it... Could be. Do you think it would help if I didn't actually concentrate? Like if I thought about work or something instead...
  12. So just wanted to rant... I failed my mod 1 for the 3rd time today The first two times I put my foot down going through the cones and also didn't get up to speed on the avoidance (last time failed that by 1kph!), this time the avoidance was okay (52kph!!) but I put my foot down on the cones again... Not booked round 4 yet but if I fail that as well I'm going to go crazy, all this is costing me a fortune! Plus the fact that I can ride the bike blindfolded in my lessons is driving me nuts! Anybody got any tips on not failing?
