I've done two bike safe courses. One of the startling fact's is. That over 40% of police killed while in the service is on a motor bike. To turn that in to ever day riding. Give you the out-come that only 60% of non police rider's IE Joe blog public will live out there day on a bike if they ride the same way as the police. When less than 20% of bike ride's get killed in the course of there life time. Ride like the police and increase your chance of getting killed. I see that on a lot of the left hand bend's, The police ride high on the road to see more of the road ahead. If there are two car's coming round the bend one following the other. The second car only has to poke his nose out to see if the road is clear. The front car will be blocking that part of the road the bike is on, and you have one dead cop. Riding a police bike douse not make you inperves to have an accent. as the accident statics will show. By all mean's take the course and see what they say. But I must stress take on that part of the course that you feel safe with. Like I have said in other post. Ride a bit slower and you have abetter chance of getting to the end of your journey in one piece.

The old chestnut. I'm I doing it right? Look at it this way. I ride my bike at about half the power of the bike's capacity. Why? first you get a lot less SP30. Second maintains cost's are less. On an over all journey your only going to be a few min's longer getting to where ever you want to be. Chances are you will live longer as well. In my book road craft is a lot more important than skill. If you can read the road and see a problem before it happens that could just save your life. Ride to your comfort zone. Believe you me the better rider is not the one that ride's the fastest, it's the one that lives' the longest. and at 67 year's old. I've rode my fair share of bike's. With that length of time in the saddle it's not all luck.

OK. I'll come clean. This is my first post. I am on other forums, as the heading say's I'm off to Spain and Portugal this year. Leaving in May. I'm looking for some one to share the cost's with me on the way down. Staying at F1 in France. I have an apartment booked in Portugal for four week's. I'm not looking for someone to do the whole four week's. But if you want to that's OK. Who I'm I?, am 67 year's old. Retired. single, time is my own. I live in Norfolk just out side King's Lynn.
If you are interested give me a call on this e mail
