  1. I have had a very similar issues with my bike, culprit was valve clearance.... It had none. I went through all the normal checks too plug, filters, carb, cdi, coil etc etc it was just an off chance ckeck that found the problem
  2. Ahhh ok i know what you mean Deepest apologies
  3. Sorry just re read your post, did you replace the cylinder head gasket or exhaust gasket
  4. Are your head bolts tightend down correctly, it sounds like the head gasket is leaking air that could be your popping noise too, If its not compressed the gasket enough then at the higer rpms its could be forcing air between the block and head
  5. Did you put your acid in and fully charge your new battery first
  6. Cool cheers guys. Reason i asked is my bike has a non standard engine and handle bars so the original length is slightly out and it would be easier to use a generic one if they last
  7. Just read the whole thing, it does sound like its definitely to do with the actual lever, have you tried fitting it with the lever rotated 180 degrees from its current location, could be that its a one way round only operation
  8. Hay all Does anyone have any thoughts on universal motorcycle clutch cable kits. Any good as a permanent repair or just a shtf fix Taa in advance Pete
  9. It was running to lean after all i have richend up the carb by raising the needle a notch and its performance is much better now Still had to push it home two miles after the clutch cable snapped
  10. Yeah it is adjustable, i think i will try to lower it a notch and see if it helps, i just don't want to run it lean and damage the engine
  11. Its the original zongshen cdi ignition. Never thought to shut the fuel off, good plan will try that... The carb is the zongshen one too with the original needle however i have put the throttle cable from the derbi into the zongshen slide, would tjis affect the needle hight?

  13. Hay all. Im pete and a newbie........ Been lurking for a while and now need a hand, hope you can help. I bought a derbi senda baja from ebay as a non running project, i fitted a Chinese engine from a zongshen arizona as the old one was fubar. The new engine runs fine until im out riding, its has a horrid bogging down feeling and wont go much more than 40mph. Bizzar thing is, going down the slightest of hills and its fine but up the slightest hill and it boggs.... Most of what i have read online suggests that it could be running rich at higher rpms. Would yoi guys and gals agree. Its driving me mad not getting out and riding and i really hope it can be fixed.
