  1. don't get mix up with the X-ADV different beast altogether.the adv 350 is a much lighter and more manageable than my 750 .

as for one I like to have two and always have done. both on seperate ins. both cost me about £120 each, f/comp which means a glorified 3rd party.

its highly unlikely that I will go for a large capacity bike these days. I usually ride around about 60 mph and 70 mph so a medium size will do .

    like the 500 honda etc.

I've never been one for big fast bikes.

the biggest was a Tracer 900 which I didn't like so sold it after about 9 months.

fastest I've had.. was a thundercat 600 ,had 2 of them.

to be honest I've no interest in big horses or fast bikes.

to me any bike that is capable of hitting  90-100 mph is plenty fast enough.

if its capable of doing 100 mph then I know I wont be screwing it neck doing 80 mph for long periods.

thanks for replying so far. this what the adv that I'm after....

  2. maybe so twice I nearly dropped it taking out of the garage.

question was about the ins. a guy on another forum couldn't have multi bike ins now the he turned 75.

he has been using them for years.so much for loyalty.

  3. someone mention if you downsize it's difficult to go back up to a bigger bike.

I'm 72 coming up to 73.currently I have a Forza 750 after my two long trips plan later (due to the weight of the Forza).

I'm considering going for the ADV 350 around aug or later.also I have a NC750S which I plan to sell next year for a Triumph 400x.

the question is have any body experience this?

Cleaning and treating matt paint/lacquer to look right after it has left the factory is not just the use of normal washing up liquid route.

its quite soft so its easy for even a very mild cleaner to affect it, let alone bugs, tar, road and bird shite just to name a few...

then people just put any old wax on it....

it was like that when I got it.

  5. well I couldn't get a long with my w800 due to vibrations that got me as well as the seat crushing my nuts against the tank.
after taking the little RE classic 350 for a run and felt that better suited for short runs over my local moors.
most of my speeds over there is about 50 mph riding two up.
no rush to get any where.
picking my new bike up next week same as in the picture posted

  6. I had but soon sold. it was gutless one of the worst bike I've ever own.

to be truthful it was a bag o'shyt.

couldn't overtake a little ford fiesta.

    don't buy it mate.

  7. it’s very old tech that was great at the time. But a £50-£70 motorcycle jacket. Seriously?  Take off all the extra costs involved in getting it from China to your hands and you’re buying a £12 garment to trust your skin to.

just because I said they tend to be around £50/£70 doesn't mean I'll buy one.

my current jacket wife inc is oxford Montreal .it still in good nick.

not been worn that much.bought it just before the pandemic so it probably has about 6 continues use.

the shoulder flo pattern has faded a bit other than that its still looks new.

    anyway thanks for the input.

  8. I'm in a bit of a spot here(wide choices).

the reason why is that cordura  jackets are 100% water proof according to the adverts.

textiles are only shower proof but if water proof spray on it make it more water proof but not 100%.

a lot of cordura jackets on ebay  tend to cost around £50/£70.

I don't think I've ever had Cordura jackets mostly Textiles.

have any of you worn a cordura and are they really 100% waterproof.?
