  1. we are going for a long ride out to yarmouth and around the area a week on Saturday, planning ahead though as we hope to do a bit of touring in the future around scotland.
  2. I always heard the 10% plus 2 rule, sadly due to being distracted I didn't even know what speed I was doing at the time he caught me :-/
  3. Its a shame I hadn't thought more about it and bought a longer style jacket. The one I have is the short body style. Not hoping to get out much in the rain these days anyway.
  4. I had to nip out on my bike in the rain on Saturday morning, first proper chance to test my Frank Thomas Jacket and trousers in the rain. All in all kept me dry, well apart from one area. There is a zip on the frank thomas trousers to zip it to the jacket. Zip is only about 10 cm long and in the middle. So I guess its to keep them close in the event of rain maybe. Only problem I had was either side of the zip, my T shirt must have been out in the open, so it got quite wet. No I dont usually travel out in the rain but is there anything I can do to try and limit this in future?
  5. I'm thinking they must have had a very slow day that day lol we get the police bike with his camera a lot in our neck of the woods. I know all the places he tries to HIDE, just very unfortunate this time I had the little un being naughty in the back, turns round to tell him off, turn back and oooh copper. no idea what speed I was doing when I saw him, so wasn't sure id been speeding till I got the ticket. Oh well, half a day being taught how to suck eggs. Could have been worse I suppose
  6. Got caught speeding the other day in a rural village down the road from me, In the car at the time. Got busted doing 34 mph in a 30. OOOh bit harsh I thought. Distracted for a moment, now i've got to do a blooming speed awareness course!
  7. its becoming a yearly occourance. So thinking I need to get prepared. Cheaper if I use a hold all, smarter if I get panniers might have to keep an eye out, see if I can land on a bargain
  8. If i decide to get some panniers, any one know of any good sites to go to? Or is old ebay and Amazon about the best bet?
  9. surely keep the camera, just down point it out you never know when you might need it.

  11. Yeah I suppose. Might have to give it a test run. Managed with a ruck sack fastened before but it was a tight fit for all my gear. The hold all is quite large maybe a little large for what I need but will see if I've got enough bungee cords to hold it down.
  12. How much and was it an eBay shop you bought this from? After one for my naked SV650
  13. I've got a weekend road trip coming up. Now as it stands I don't have any panniers or a tail bag. Wondering if I can get away with what I've got. The bike has a luggage rack fitted. Could I get away with fastening a holdall to it? Or is this liable to flab all over whilst riding?
  14. My ex wife is the same, now my 9 year old DOESN'T want to ride on the back coz mum says he's not allowed! Yet she lets him ride a mini motorbike, sometimes not amount of logic will make them change their mind!
  15. I'm on my second marriage, hopefully my last! I'm the old fashioned type and believe in a marriage. Unfortunately due to the ex working at it wasn't an option and sadly with children involved I'll have to have contact with her for the foreseable future but hey ho
  16. Glad to hear things are on the up, my first marriage didn't last 3 years. But at least I'm happier now
  17. Cheers for the update, I hadn't thought of that. Id use it more for long rides out, somewhere new or when I go for a weekender on the bike. So hopefully that shouldn't scratch it too much
  18. I've had a quick look at phone holders for the bike, but they dont leave much room for the cable to charge it whilst riding. Might think about getting a tank bag, with the clear pouch on the top so I can see the phone.
  19. Ive seen a nice AGV helmet from Sportsbikeshop reduced by £30, J&S sell the same helmet, might see if they will price match.
  20. I appreciate the office, but sadly I have a big head :-/
  21. I'm just concerned as to if it looks a bit moist out, that it cant be used, in fairness though I tend to only ride when its dry, but its something I've thought about
  22. Max I can spend at the moment is around £70, I'll keep looking cheers for the help guys, I've seen a nice looking AGV one, my mate has an expensive AGV one and he swears by it
  23. I accidentally dropped my lid and broke it, after a replacement but unfortunately don't have a lot of money to spare. Im going to try and not be too tight as my old lid was a nitro one and if I'm honest, I never really liked it and it let it WAY too much wind and noise for my liking. Can anyone recommend anything?
