  1. At work we use agency staff to cover holidays and illness, my colleague was working with an agency staff member last week (not sure where he was from originally) and he asked her if she would be voting in or out. When she replied that she was uncertain, he stated that he hoped it would be a vote to stay in so that he could get all his family and friends to come here. Another reason I believe to vote out?

  2. Judging by the amount of video's on Youtube showing how to pick locks including disk locks and padlocks of various types, it seems to me that the only way to guarantee not to have your bike stolen is not to buy one in the first place.

Because no matter how good and theft proof the lock and chain are supposed to be, someone will find a way of removing it. Sure the average bike thief will think twice when confronted with a bike that is locked via a ground anchor and multiple chains and padlocks, but it won't phase a professional who is stealing to order.

And you would be suprised at how blind peope can become when confronted by a gang trying to steal something.

  3. yes ... interesting concept on a 125 ..

hopefully OP will let us know how he gets on with that one

I sometimes drop down a gear or two when going uphill, and I have got a 1000cc bike!! So why not do it on a 125?

Edit. In fact I can't think of one mode of transport where the need to drop down a gear isn't required at times

From max revs (limited - see OPs comment) in 4th - drop down two gears and.......

Pick yourself up. Pick the bike up and check for damage. Replace rear tyre, chain, sprockets and trousers!

It depends on the gradient of the hill. Picture this, you are going up a hill in bottom gear (4th, 5th, 6th. Whatever) and the revs start dropping along with your top speed. Drop down a gear and as if by magic the revs start to rise again and so does your speed, this carries on untill you either reach the summit or run out of gears in which case you come to a stop. Simples!!

  4. you are allowed to ride to a pre booked MOT test without tax and MOT as long as you go straight there and back

    you must have insurance though

Not sure if it still applies, but going back many years you could still be done for not having road tax on your vehicle even though you had booked it in for it's MOT.

  5. Never, ever, never, ever use instant gasket seal on anything. Invariably, you will find bits of it clogging up parts of your engine that really do not need clogging. ;)

As with most things, its only as good as the person using it.

Never had any problems using 'Instant Gasket (silicone)'; Red or Blue Hermatite. I have also cut my own gaskets from both Cork sheets and sheets of 'greasproof' paper / oil paper.

Me neither have used them all in the past, but not on carbs though.

  6. When it's running sluggish try dropping down a gear or two, to give it a boost.

  7. Honda in their infinite wisdom my have changed the size of the sprockets on the later bike, that could be the reason why the year is listed along with the chain size?

You will be better off trying to get one that corresponds with the year your bike was built. I am sure there are plenty available on the 'net

The one you are looking at is out of stock??

  8. Really cool post!

Cheers Oldie  ...(Feel really rude calling you that, I should be respecting my elders! )

Sadly I am old! :(, I turned 60 in October but I don't know how to change my user name to reflect this?

  10. My Raspberry P I is on its way :D

By coincidence, we went down to Kent the weekend to see my stepson (my wife's son) and his family, on Saturday evening he showed me the Pi 2 media centre he had bought for £50 and gave me a demo of it (brilliant piece of kit). He bought it from The Pi Hut

    http://thepihut.com/collections/raspber ... centre-kit

He also said to buy this http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-PA411KI ... networking

Which I believe boosts the data transfer rate and costs £19.99p from Amazon

He told me to read this to learn how to install it http://mymediaexperience.com/raspberry- ... h-raspbmc/ plus thishttp://www.tvaddons.ag/config-wizard-kodi/ The best add ones he reckons are Genesis, SALTS and Phoenix.and sent me these links to be able to watch several film, sports, and TV programs from around the world as well as the UK.

Whilst reading about The Pi 2 Media Centre this morning, I came across this http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/ho ... le-1289146 (I'm looking forwards to trying this out)

I sent off off for the Pi 2 Media Centre, and the data transfer booster on Sunday when we got back home and I am waiting for it to arrive so have not been able to try any of the above links, so cannot comment on them further.

  11. Take the dust caps off the valve stems, and put some spit into the valve stems, if you can see bubbles appearing the valve cores are leaking and might need replacing. A simple fix, parts and the valve tool are available in Halfords quite cheaply. If this is not the problem put something like Gloop into the tyres, you will have to ride the bike around for a while though to distribute the stuff around the inside of the tyres.
