so would i wear a helmet - i suppose an open face would look more the part

well this thread does start off saying that the bike came up locally and for the right money

it's about having something to tinker with, my bikes aren't worth very much but i like them,

of course this makes restoration technically uneconomic which my restoration definitely is

i have been surprised at how much restoration has cost, i've been trying to make one good bike out of two similar machines, both 1990.

some gaskets and bushes have been hard to find/expensive and although i have done the bulk i have used a local mechanic when stuck,

there have been problems undoing bolts/re threading plus seized bush type fittings that i have been forced to get professional help with

nearly there but really it would be cheaper to buy another in running order than the rebuild that i attempted, wonder if others find similar

hesitate to mention it but to some extent that problem can be avoided by 'pouring' your head, forehead first into a helmet

the only problem is that this can only be done with open face or flip type lids, i've got longish hair, combe back/pour in

spent the last days relaying slabs with deepish foundation, hammering out existing

it is strange isn't it, that four slabs were loose one side of the house and not the other

just so happens to be that stretch where next door replaced their fence, i assume the

contractor banged down a load of sacks of sand, it must have been something heavy.

i put those slabs in 10 yrs ago and with a fair bit of concrete/aggregate underneath too

on both sides - a load of work that i wasn't anticipating redoing a job previously done

It might have been an auger used for the fence posts which disturbed them or maybe

a mini digger - i don't know as i was at work at the time. anyway a right pain.

when we had double glazing i found several tiles broken on the lower roof in the vicinity

of the windows put in and when we had a fence contractor ourselves i found a drain grid

broken where he placed a cement mixer i imagine, of course they never say anything,

quite annoying. Rant over

got a wedding coming up, suit is a bit tight though - three weeks to lose some weight

a friend slowly, over time, got really quite fat, then i saw him recently and he was slim,

he said all he did was cut out cheese, bread and chocolate, i'm going to give that a go,

judging by the tone of your posts you stayed calm - police seem to react well if they are treated with a bit of respect

thanks - actually it wasn't that clever as the lock no longer operates but I'll take it apart tomorrow and see if I can get it working again.

my shed, just recently painted - prefer the darker green

set off to take the dog out and oops, i've locked myself out, - spare key in the shed doesn't work because there is a key already in the lock inside

no neighbours around so I prize off the patio door, what a job! I heard that burglars do that and it gave me the idea, anyway it's all back together

used a spade to lever the door together with some bricks, not that easy but did it, thought i was going to be living in the shed for a while there

you will get the hang of it, make sure that you really have the clear space ahead then go for it with the idea of getting by in one clean sweep

you do need the extra power in hand so drop a gear to get the engine singing if necessary then change up for speed, personally i don't overtake unless pressed

it just isn't worth it. filtering is a bit different and not what we are discussing here good luck oh and try and leave good distances at all times if you can

are there any harley riders on here? if there are then no offence

but how do they get away with the exhaust loudness for an MOT?

bad luck - it is a constant worry for me going through london regularly, speed limits changing every few miles.
