  1. Well by i stroke of luck my gfs mum and boyfriend travelled up from devon for xmas and her boyfriend is a mechanic.. he checked wverything over, tightened main stem bearing, spokes, replaced flasher unit for led indicators and showed me how corrosion could affect switches. We routed out all the problems u til he was happy id sail through an MOT. He ordered a reg/rec from a cpi adrenaline off ebay and advised to chop and solder it into place then heat shrink tube over the joins. Fingers crossed after the reg turn up my problems should vanish. As usual though im incredibly greatful for ppl taking time out to help me on here
  2. So i thought id update on the bulbs.. i went to the kawasaki dealer who built the bike and the dont have wiring manuals or build manuals for my bike, i asked for a 5 wire female ended regulator and he said it could take til monday to get back to me if they can get one? I managed to buy 1 of 2 halogen 35w pilot bulbs i asked for as thats all they had and 2 35w candescant bulbs. He couldnt give me any 15 amp fuses so i popped into halfords and got some. In middle of the night i woke up on the sofa (mrs had left me snoring) and had a burst of determination after a set back buying a suzuki gz125, i started to follow all the wires from the battery, when i noticed something strange; now when i got the bike the right switch had a chunk of metal shorting out my bulbs but before realising this someone looked it over and had earthed my bike to negative on the battery, i remember it not being attached to anything originally. ive attached it to frame as recommended, then i replaced the fuse and found & taped up a tiny split in the fuse holder wire and replaced both bulbs. Now everythings is back!!! (for the time being anyway) and fingers crossed ill get a fresh reg next week.. thanks for all the tips you really helped me out
  3. Just got to work and read all your replies thanks for all your pointers, ill read properly on break and look into it tomorrow. Really do appreciate taking time to help with this
  4. Not sure if its relevant but when i started buying 55w halogens as told to buy dealer, they popped within a day or 2 and then after the 2nd one stopped ive had no pilot or main beam
  5. Just tried it there, i have white blue and green into the main bulb and brown&white and a green in the pilot.. I tried all combinations of wires for both bulbs to little success, i tested the battery idling at 14.5v revved to 4-5000 and it went up to 15v.. Im thinking broken cable maybe but havent got time to pull it apart atm my bed is calling me
  6. Will drag the bike out before i go to bed n update.. Is that the same as checking the reg? Forgive my stupidity
  7. Hi my cpi suv has veen popping bulbs since i bought it back in may/june. While using normal 35w bulbs it seems every now and then, i replaced the right switch as it was faulty but slowly it continued to eat through bulbs (twice as fast for main bulb to pilot bulb if that makes sense) i asked in the local kawasaki dealers and they said prob battery (which i replaced off ebay) Now i read the reg/rec could be the issue so i tried to test it with a multimeter but to no success (not sure if that means its dead but on youtube he had 3 yellow stator wites and mine only has 1). Does anyone have any experience with sudden headlight failure? I have to go back to work in a few mins but will post more info and pics when i get home. Thanks for any advice u can give (except dont buy chinese)
  8. Hey there i stumbled across this while googling the same problem with my suv 125.. the web (google) seems to not know these bikes even exist and while ive heard alot of bad things about chinese bikes so far so good (except popping bulbs) my question is did you find out the solution??? my headlights dont light up anymore at all after months of replacing bulbs randomly even though the console and rear lights do!? My knowledge of mechanics is slim at best and i only know what ive learned while having to fix my old cg125 (gaskets, sprockets, brakes, throttle cable etc) electrics are a mystery to me! Also i anyone can help me with a link for a replacement reg/rec id appreciate it, thanks guys for any info you can share (other than avoid chinese bikes lol)
