  1. Same sort of thing happened to me , she tried to pull it and she hadn't numbed it properly , nearly hit the ceiling and like a fool I let her have another go ....on the second attempt still wasn't numbed properly and you'd of thought she was trying to Excalibur from the stone , was like she didn't have the strength .

got referred to a another dentist , numbed it one yank and it was out .

That's what happened with me they couldn't numb tooth, 2nd attempt I was also sedated which is really weird as I know you're not knocked out but have no memory of it. Anyway dentist referred me to hospital as I apparently swung for him when he tried to take it out as it wasn't numbed

  2. :stupid: Dentists are up there in my top three fears. The one I had when I was a kid was Evil I tells ya, EVIL!

This was my one small haven I could come to and not get wound up by the constant crap from both sides on Brexit.

Had wisdom tooth out yesterday (been waiting 2 years for removal as 2 dentists couldn't do it ended up as hospital removal) so biscuits are also off the menu :crybaby:

    What is everyone's favorite soup?

I'm pretty boring but I Love Tomato... Same that I really enjoy a good Vanilla milkshake, really thick and really sweet (Or Oreo... God I miss Eds Shakes).

In terms of biscuits, I'm pretty addicted to the Foxs Crunch Creams at the mo  They are Sooo nice.

Tomato soup is lovely and what I had last night :D hate tomatoes in general though, just nice in soup and ketchup

Didn't think about milkshakes! Think I'll have to dig out blender and have an Oreo milkshake, biscuits are back on!!!

  3. I feel your pain , fooking hate dentists , espicailly the bitch who tried to pull one of my teeth last year she should be struck off.

I do too! Charge a fortune and useless! Main delay in this was my dentist didn't want to attempt it because of complications which is understandable and fair play he was honest, but then dentist I was referred to who was supposedly better tried and couldn't then said I'd be referred to hospital but instead of that another dentist decided he wanted to have a go so got called back there for him to try (and fail miserably) before giving up and referring me to hospital.

Funnily enough hospital done it with no issues and really nice dentist. But guarantee she probably earns a fraction of what the private practice ones earn.

  5. ... and what's @baz 's relationship with Viper?!

I'm guessing owner ('some facts' and 'for the record' are a bit of a giveaway, how could you know facts if you aren't involved with the company?) and after a quickfire 3 post rant we will probably never hear from them again. Personally I avoid companies that pull fake crap like this like the plague. If you genuinely want to have your side of the story heard at least identify yourself as the company in question not pretend to be a customer.

Also, original poster stuck around for a couple of years after so unlikely they were a rival company and more likely a pissed off customer, baz mysteriously decides his only 3 posts are on a 7 year old thread more likely found by search rather than just happening to be browsing forum.

As above you would be much more respected if you posted as business owner with your side of the story. All you've really done now is highlight a thread which would more likely have been missed by everyone else as a poor attempt to try and discredit a someone yet only discredited yourself.

  6. Come on then where's the pictures of the assembled dalek?

Right, after a bit of a hunt around in the warehouse I located the dalek and the bike, both of which are in a similar state of (*cough*) near-completion:

I decided to street-fighter the bike after pulling off one knackered part after another, and will probably get around to it once the Morris Traveller that is currently being restored by one of our staff has vacated the premises. :D

    Nearly finished then :thumb:

  7. Dangerous place Ikea. Almost as bad as Ebay

The difference between them is that it isn't so easy to go shopping in Ikea at one o'clock in the morning in a state of what we might euphemistically call 'diminished responsibility'.

In France a couple of years ago, after one particularly self-destructive experiment with the local cider, I awoke to an email telling me that I was the proud owner of a build-your-own life-size model dalek, a huge box of assorted plastic dinosaurs, an aquarium complete with robot fish, and a motorbike.

Come on then where's the pictures of the assembled dalek?

  8. And the lesson you have learned from this episode is?

Well I didn’t install them myself but didn’t want to flat out blame my fella as he was trying to be nice....

I'd look for a new bloke as well as replacement panels in that case :thumb:

  9. Unfortunately it's a fairly recent change which wasn't advertised much. Previously I've had vehicles go off road after I've bought tax and cancelled insurance but not bothered to SORN until tax reminder came through. Now you cannot keep a vehicle taxed whilst uninsured regardless of it being off road.

It is something much more likely to affect bikers, with yearly tax so cheap especially for 125s your more likely to not bother SORNing with a few months left, I only found out when I cancelled insurance on 125 the advisor was helpful enough to tell me of this change otherwise I wouldn't have contacted DVLA straight away.

  10. I have a chest of drawers that is still lined inside with off-cuts of the wallpaper we had in our living room in the 1970s. Are you ready for this?

That reminds me of childhood all my drawers were lined with wallpaper... amazing things you forget about

    Was it Superman wallpaper? :D

That’s what my brothers had. I was so jealous

No never had such trendy stuff when I was a kid, was more like the style MarkW posted :(

  11. Why not purchase a cheapie ebay top box? One I got was £30 and was large enough for helmet and boots (plus rolled up lightweight rain gear).

The locking mechanism was an absolute joke and could be opened in 2 secs by a thief if they tried but strangely bike boxes are rarely targeted by thieves they tend to take whole bike, used it for 2 years without issue. There was someone using same parking as me who would chain his lid to wheel, personally thieves and sabotage aside you cant trust english weather and no one likes a soggy helmet.

  13. Mrs and I have not long moved and were looking at doing this in our front room, but with wood!

Yours looks good, might have to ask for tips :thumb:

That is just wood. The TV is bracketed into old wall, the rest was just for asthetics so TV didnt stick out past wall, didn't originally need to take any weight.

I have a 2x2 running floor to ceiling at corner then battoning across for support then just 2mm MDF as the replacement.

I did since then change the speakers for surround sound which were a bit bigger than they looked in picture  so have one of those mounted onto the wood and has no issues with supporting that at all, speakers been up about a year now with no sign of any issue.

Replacing coving was hardest part, absolute nightmare getting it to blend in with old coving that ended up being more filler than coving.

  14. Just dug out some more old pictures.

When I moved into this place despite a decent size living room the layout of it was annoying to place TV and have a sofa facing it without blocking walkway into kitchen.

So I extended the wall for cupboard under stairs so I could fit TV and then sofa could go on long back wall.

    How it looked before...

  15. I fooking hate wiring, I have few servers and NAS drives in cupboard under stairs and despite rarely getting touched seem to tie up in knots constantly so decided to wall mount plugs and switches to keep it tidy, worked well...

On nerdy side of DIY, the little trongle box in that pic is an old android tv box repurposed running armbian and is now my network monitoring box, uses hardly any electricity and ran over a year without a hiccup until I pulled power cable out yesterday

  16. Love building / doing up things, sometimes it can cost more but so much more worthwhile.

Biggest build I did was converting old metal frame bunk beds into a hydraulic press, don't have it anymore as had to get rid of it when I moved but managed to find a picture...

    IMAG0595.thumb.jpg.2959d687c7196947e177b7458bc7e2ad.jpg

Did its job and was effectively free.

I've got an old (pre WW2) bench drill I want to restore when I've got the time, that said nothing wrong with it and still gets used but would like to get it back to like new.

Plus the smaller stuff like 3D printer, have also made a hands free telescope focuser, uses a small stepper motor connected to arduino board and rotary control so stepper motor mimics rotation of rotary control which is then mounted on telescope and drives focus knob with belt... When focusing on far object can be a nightmare as touching telescope results in a wobble so no need to touch it with that.

  17. Don't go out on a ride with Hoggs then , she took us to some pub for some grub , they had a barby in the garden .. £10 for a fooking burger  , no chips just the burger , at least Dick Turpin wore a mask .

That's what happens when someone used to London prices picks where to eat

  18. Not a believer in luck etc... But like what you've done.

I still have all the staples that were removed from leg. My brother had a serious crash on his bike years ago and has kept his leathers from that (just a tiny rip in them).

For us they are just little reminders not to take things for granted.

Was half tempted to put an offer in for bike I smashed up to repair it but but think that would have been taking the piss

  19. Thanks everyone but sure it will be fine :thumb:

That's the annoying thing it couldn't have been anything from browsing as didn't mention it online or search anything related, only thing that would have flagged anything would had been from WhatsApp which is no surprise really as it's owned by Facebook.

  20. I'm used to the "tailored" marketing used by companies nowadays and find it funny when I purchase something only to be inundated with adverts for the exact thing I've already purchased for weeks afterwards.

As I mentioned a while ago I've had problems with kidney which has a very large growth on it, hospital contacted me recently and I have to go in next week for investigatory surgery as they are not sure it's benign. Now this is the first time I've mentioned that online but I told a few close friends about it via WhatsApp yesterday.

Today every advert I've had on Facebook has been this one (or a varying design of same ad)...

    Screenshot_20190301-223716_Facebook.thumb.jpg.0a2d45a4e72ca6c687f0ab1aedc9bf7f.jpg

Now it could just be a coincidence and I'm tough skinned so don't bother me (plus I'm sure it is benign and hospital just covering ass) but WTF
